Saint-Malo, originally built as a walled citadel guarding the mouth of the Rance river, was for centuries home to feared pirates. They’ve all gone to Davy Jones’ Locker, though, and now it’s Brittany’s most-visited city. Walk the bustling streets of the reconstructed old city and the vast beaches, making sure to stop at the Grande Porte, Porte St-Vincent, the town’s castle with its Musée de la Ville and the Grand Aquarium.

Annadata is a vegetarian & organic restaurant in St Malo offering gourmet cuisine in a zen and vegetal setting.
Gourmet vegetarian. I got the menu, with appetizer, main course and desert. Each was extraordinary. I think non-vegetarians would love the food here as well. And the service here was also fantastic. Our waiter took the time to explain every item on the menu (which changes every day). Almost wish we had more time in St Malo, so we could come back again.

Our first night in saint-malo. Wanted less of a heavy formal dinner having just come from 10 days in Paris. Thought a wine bar would be the right thing with gourmet innovative small plates. This was not the place for that kind of evening. The search of wine bars produced this place. Wines were excellent and service was very good but it was a 3, 5 or 8 course set menu. The wine pairings were reasonable. Three glasses for 18â¬. Full pours and each one better than the last. Food was innovative but over-salted (and I am a salt person). Disappointed.
