This used to be a very good Italian restaurant so I was surprised the name is the same but the "theme" has changed - from traditional Italian to "surf'n'turf".Nevertheless, I was not disappointed: the tasting meat menu was finger-licking-delicious and perfectly seasoned. Every type of meat (rib-eye, Irish steak and Kobe beef) was excellent and almost melted in my mouth. The fries with truffle creme were so good...the only thing that did not fit very well was the "wok veggies" as they were to intensive in taste for the meat. The white wine sangria with fruits, the amuse bouche (filet with risotto) as well as the side Caesar salad with home made bread were a great complement. Las not least dessert - it is great to see they have a "sampler" (4 different mini desserts) with white chocolate icecream plus brownie, a fruit sorbet, a champagne brûlée and a peach panacotta...just perfect to round up the meal!Service: very nice and attentive. Ambience: slightly elegant but cozy at the same time. All in all an excellent experience worth repeating!

Welcome at âMr. Pepperâsâ by Whiskykoch. Enjoy food especially cooked to accompany Chris (Mr.) Pepperâs tasting notes, pairing whisky and food. Please also feel just as welcome if whisky is not quite - or not yet - your taste. We also have a small, but ni
Top notch food, excellent quality and super tasty. Definitely a place for foodies or for a special occasion. Served in a relaxed environment. Be sure to save room for dessert if you have a sweet tooth because Chris Pepper's panna cotta is to die for.One review complained about prices - it is for sure more expensive than dropping by an average restaurant but quality has its price.Oh the whisky is great too, but no problem if that is not your thing.Oh wow, delighted about another 5*** review and words like 'excellent, super taste etc.' go down really well. So glad you enjoyed the menue!A small note about Chris' panna cotta: If you are coming in for just that dessert recommendation, please don't be disappointed if you might not find it on the menue anymore. Our menue is fairly small and we are changing it every 4 - 5 weeks, making sure you don't get bored with panna cotta only ;-) But I can assure you, there is more 'good stuff' on the dessert list and we hope you'll enjoy it just as much.If you fancy something small please don't hesitate to drop in as well. With Scottish Nachos, Whisky Sausages or a Cheese Board you will also find something for the small appetite and/or smaller wallet. *** CU again @ Mr. Pepper's ***Where friends meet. Thanks, Marion & Chris

High marks for this friendly and cozy vegetarian restaurant. The menu is internationally inspired and the ingredients are excellent and carefully prepared. There is outside seating that is covered with a heated tent when it is chilly. Prices are moderate and attitude is casual. Definitely recommend.

The setting is indeed perfect, especially if the weather cooperates. Unfortunately, today it was raining so we sat inside. Still, the indoor facilities are elegant and comfortable (except for the elevator tunes). Service was extremely attentive and helpful. As described by previous reviews, the food is very good and sophisticated. Furthermore, the wine list is extensive with a focus on Italian bottles (even some hard to get, like Amarone). The highlight of the meal was definitely dessert with a delicate egg custard topped with crunchy bits (interpretation of a Bienenstich). No, it was not traditional. I am glad because my grandmother's would have been better. However, I think the best asset of Jagdschloss Kranichstein is their dessert chef.So why only 4/5? First, the music. It was horrendous. Furthermore, the portions of the main dishes were somewhat small for the price. While the wine list was extensive, the selection of wines by the glass was somewhat limited. Finally, the dining room had multiple flies. It was no effort snapping a photo of two on them on my plate (see attached pictures). This should never be the case for a restaurant that strives to be of such caliber.

Have been here twice for dinner. Both times the food was unique, well presented, nice portions (not too big nor small), well paired. My last visit there was a menu for the day for a reasonable price. It included an appetizer, a salad, main entree (I had chicken with vegetables), a souffle dessert, and wine. The restaurant is cozy by friendly atmosphere. The owner met us at the door and was most hospitable. Nice place for dinner!
