We called in here one evening after spotting it on Google. Walking up a narrow soi with empty shops, I was expecting the worst, but was pleasantly surprised by a welcoming, bright, clean restaurant. Although there were ten of us in our party, the staff were not fazed and quickly set up a table for us.The restaurant serves both western and Thai food, with burgers a speciality. I personally ate Thai and found the food tasty and reasonably priced. The burgers certainly appeared to be home made and were a very good size. Most of our party were happy enough with their meals and although the price of the burgers was a little high,, overall a very pleasant experience.

California Steak is the premier roof top restaurant at Kameo Grand Hotel, right in the center of Rayong.Tonight it offered a buffet dinner at Baht 650 a head. It was well worth it.The offerings included an extensive salad bar, various pizzas, a carvery with roast legs of lamp and baked ham, and a barbecue, with salmon, tuna, prawns, other seafood, and steaks cooked to order. There was an extensive array of vegetables, including roast potatoes, spinach, corn and peas.To cap it off there was a mouth-watering table of cakes, trifles, pastries, tarts, and a cheese board.Washed down with a bottle of Australian Penfold's Shiraz, it was a memorable meal.Thank you for taking the trouble to write to us about your dining experience at the California Steak. We are very pleased that we were able to meet your wishes for a most fulfilling dinner and we will pass on your compliments to our Chef and his team. We hope very sincerely to have the pleasure of serving again in the future. At Cape and Kantary Hotels, we actively support SOS Childrenâs Villages and the Thai Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Ok, it's busy, tasty and offers a buffet lunch that attracts the crowds from the enormous Maptaphut petrochemical estate that is nearby and full of fareng. They serve a passable beefsteak, but if you're expecting Australian or American style beef you should lower your expectations. The place is large, clean and friendly with good service and plentiful dishes and very nice deserts. The typical Thai interpretation of German dishes belies the name but you will get a solid meal here.
Pork Knuckle and Paulaner Beer. It reminded my of my experience at Octoberfest, Munich Germany in 2008. Reasonably priced for beer and food. Wide range of food from local thai cuisine, Italian Pizzas and Pastas. Huge range of bottled beers from around the world. I chose Paulaner on tap. Staff very efficient, courteous and well presented. On the 10th of Feb, 2018, I had the fortune of meeting one of the Thai Owners. This man invited me to join his table. His daughter had just arrived back from Australia and it was great chatting to her in normal English, not pigeon English. The owner has only recently opened the Rayong Franchise and was looking forward to expanding to Chiang Mai. I believe the market of foreigners that visit Chiang Mai, would make his business a success. The menu, atmosphere and clientele at the venue were a mix of foreigners and local thai people. Everyone appeared extremely satisfied with their food and beverages. The toilet is location at the rear of the bar/restaurant, in a separate building, only 20 metres from the bar.
Orchard Restaurant is one of two in-house restaurants at Kameo Grand Hotel in the heart of Rayong. It is here that the hotel offers one of the most extensive breakfast spreads I have seen in a hotel anywhere. Breads and pastries, fruit and fruit juices, Western and Asian foods, smoked salmon, a cheese board, and a station where eggs are cooked to order. But it also serves lunch and dinner, offering a mixture of international, Thai and Japanese dishes.I enjoyed a light lunch of delightfully fresh sashimi, consisting of salmon, tuna and saba, with a wasabi and soy dipping sauce.Staff are professional, attentive and welcoming.Thank you for your very kind words on your meals at the Orchard Restaurant at Kameo Grand Hotel, Rayong. It is very rewarding to read of your satisfaction with the quality of the food and the service you received. We look forward very much to serving you again in the future.
