Comments label it trendy... but there are several newer places in the same street that are as clean and comfortable as Cafe Aras. They sure know they are well rated on TripAdvisor. So the prices are way too high, more expensive than many tourist restaurants in Jakarta (fried vegetables are the cheapest on the list, at 25000 + tax !)... They charge a 10% tax on top (very unusual in Indonesia) and a 5% bank cost if you don't pay cash. The menu is complete, with a wide variety of pricey "western-believed" dishes you wouldn't find anywhere else in the world and casual Indonesian food and toraja specialties. Yet, when we asked for avocado salad (yes, it is a typical Indonesian dish here), they had only 1 avocado left and wanted to keep it for juices (I liked the honesty to say it !).When we visited, a duo was playing a few songs in English and Spanish, that tore our ears apart : loud, off key...Lastly, the staff is so numerous, most of them looked like on the wait most of the evening. To conclude : while you are in Rantepao, look for best bargains around here. There are plenty !
Top 10 Indonesian food in Rantepao, South Sulawesi, Indonesia

Average pizza in an average place. Not bad, not particularly good. The pizza is good thin crust but at 80k IDR + tax expensive by local standards. You'd have to really dislike Indonesian food or be missing home a lot to go here. Nothing special really.
Where to eat Cafe food in Rantepao: The Best Restaurants and Bars
This new small restaurant was pleasant, the staff spoke some English. The menu is fairly small and basic but it has a combination of the Indonesian and international meals. The wifi works nicely and the wait time for the meal was not big at all.
