Todos los platos salen con la misma calidez que las sonrisas de quienes los preparan o sirven. Los desayunos son exquisitos

En la callecita techada de los foodtrucks todo es tentador. Comida rápida pero local y gourmet. Una gran opción para comida al paso.

Before discover this amazing land, i lived on a real "cooking paradise", dealing with the sea, forest , lakes & volcanoes. All of them provide us a lot of products and also ancient techniques. So that, our job is turn these elements on unique experiences.
Probably one of the best ristrettos that I've had in South America (so far on the road for six weeks) so for coffee they get a very big hurrah from me. The gnocchi was superb and the staff were just fantastic. All in all this made my trip to Puerto Varas (as well as the Pedro museo).

We dined at the restaurant both nights and mornings we stayed at the hotel. Overall the food was great, with the menu changing each night (appetizer, main dish, dessert). The presentation was wonderful and the setting was spectacular. The food was also remarkably reasonable in its price. The only minor complain was the service, which did not live up to the quality of the hotel / restaurant. While there were always plenty of staff on hand, they were not be as attentive as needed or were slow in bringing out items (e.g. drinks). Overall, great experience and would definitely recommend

Mirador del Lago Restaurant is the right place to taste and enjoy the most typical dishes from the northern Patagonia. It´s cuisine combining international gastronomy with local products as salmon, wild fruits, and sea food . The great dining room of âMir
The breakfast was very limited and not enjoyable. There were no hot options for vegetarians who do not eat eggs. There was yogurt, but we found the yogurt in South America to be very runny. As part of the tour we ate at the hotel restaurant Mirador del Lago one night. It was one of the worst meals I have ever had. The entire group started with a tasteless onion soup and even salt and pepper did not help. For the vegetarians the main entrée was a vegetable frittata that was inedible. Finally the dessert was some type of unbaked bar made with dulce de leche that even our Tour Manager agreed was just bad. The kitchen just doesnât know how to cook for vegetarians (or soup and desserts for that matter).I´m very sorry about your experience, we will look into the things you mention as it is far from the experience we normally provide our guests.Kind regards,Mary Sanchez

I had doubts, ibis restaurant has a low rank on TA.A local recommended it to me as the best small scale restaurant.I had a Pisco sour as apéro. It was so full of sugar that once the ice melted it was undrinkable. I ordered pulpo ( octopus ) as a starter, it was black and chewing gum is very tasty and tender compared to this octopus.Main dish I ordered salmon with a butter / capers sauce and fresh vegetables. Well... it came all out of the freezer. Nothing was Fresh. Definitely. They recommended me a white chardonnay whine. Excellent; only at 4900 pesos ( 7.5 U$) a glass --> it is a rip off ! We are in Chile ! ( I don't like waiters who recommend the most expensive wine on the menu) Conclusion :1- don't really trust a local when they recommend a restaurant; at least be suspicious and double check. 2- avoid this place; at 60 U$ for a frozen food meal this is a bad deal / rip off. The food is simply not good/fresh/ well prepared. 3- I do not recommend ! The low TA ranking is totally justified !

We had several breakfasts and dinners at this restaurant. Food quality is tops. Dinner dishes are creative and well-prepared. Service is excellent. Restaurant is spacious and has a spectacular view of the lake and its iconic volcanoes. Our experience is that Cumbres is one of the very best restaurants in the town.

A Chilean friend recommended this restaurant when I was in Puerto Varas. For the three days I was in town, I went there three times (two lunches and one dinner). The oysters were so fresh, the ceviche stimulatingly delicious, and the Chilean sea bass melt in the mouth. Even simple side dishes like quinoa and rice were tasty. The staff was friendly and helpful, communicated well in English, and the service was fast. By the window you get to a nice view of the lake and mountains. Wonderful all around!
