Location is everything, or so they say. This restaurant unfortunately sits opposite a venue for LOUD music which drowns out the music inside the restaurant.For a restaurant, food is equally important. Three things on the menu were not available. So down to my fourth choice. Not a good sign. When it came, it was bland, meat was overcooked and generally not enjoyable. Even our daughter's macaroni and cheese lacked taste!

Returning from the archaeological site at Polonnaruwa and stopped at this restaurant for lunch. Extensive buffet of International, Sri Lankan and Asian dishes awaited the hungry group. Great location overlooking the sparkling waters of the lake. Drinks ordered, we inspected the culinary delights on display and garnered enthusiastic explanations from various chefs and waitstaff when we queried the ingredients and degrees of spicy heat. I later learnt that their definition of heat differed from mine when I had to leave the table, red-faced and eyes watering after a particularly hot morsel. It didn't detract from the excellent meal and we somehow managed to enjoy some of the delicacies available for dessert. Helpful staff and impeccable service. Highly recommended.
