Converted 17th Century town mill with the original waterwheel still intact in centre of pub. The venue has a beautiful cask ale bar (CAMRA's Good Beer Guide 2011-19) with eight hand pulls serving a variety of Cumbrian, Lancastrian and national ales. We ar
My husband and I came here for a meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We enjoyed a couple of drinks outside on the upstairs terrace initially, which was lovely, then ate in the bar area downstairs.Food (3 courses) was amazing - especially the scotch egg! Service was prompt and overall it was a lovely evening. Really recommend! Hi 254alia, thank you for taking the time to leave such a great review, and congratulations on your anniversary! We're so pleased to hear that yourself and your husband enjoyed your wedding anniversary at The Mill at Ulverston. We're delighted with your feedback, and hope to see you again very soon.

The two of us endured a rain storm and just wanted to sit have a bit to eat and dry off. Deciding on a table for four by the window so we had room to dry our jackets, a rather officious waitress tried to persuade her colleague to sit us in a corner table for two, she mumbled something about needing the table for lunch, this was 11.30. I made a comment we would not take long but got the feeling from her we were not welcome, if it hadn't of been for her helpful and obliging colleague I would have walked out and taken custom elsewhere. But the sandwich was really tasty and tea nice a refreshing. Thanks for taking the time to write a review. Sorry you did receive an initial friendly welcome, we do try and organise people and tables to suit but you should not have been made to feel unwelcome and I apologise. Our waiting on staff are usually a very friendly bunch so this comment did take me by surprise to be honest.

Family friendly Italian restaurant with a varied menu , with flexible seating allowing large parties to dine here
We went there with my family including 2 kids. Very good options to start and a wide range of pastas to choose. A bit noisy but still comfortable. Staff very nice. We paid 65 pounds including a bottoebof rose wine. You have to book to get a table.

With a fascinating history as a centre of the spice trade, Cumbrian cuisine has a rich heritage, and local specialities have long included exotic spices with favourites such as Cumberland sausage, potted shrimps, Grasmere gingerbread, and of course, stick
Beautiful setting with lovely gardens. Food is a Far Eastern fusion with amazing flavours. All plates are sharing even soups which come in smaller bowls. Good house wine by the carafe. The ambiance is great with lots of space and attentive staff.

We'd originally planned to visit the Easy Breeze but despite stating online that it's open 11am to midnight, they were putting the tables out when we arrived and were opening for the football later!!My friends had previously visited the Country Hut and enjoyed it. It was quiet, early evening, but the young lady serving was friendly and made some decent cocktails. The Rum Punch did pack a punch, you could really taste the alcohol, not always the case.I'd like to revisit when it's buzzing.

A magical Cumbrian hideaway, Simon Rogan's iconic riverside restaurant with rooms holds two Michelin stars and five AA Rosettes. Experience passion and creativity that showcases the finest ingredients and harnesses the powerful connection between food and
We dined here in October 2019. Everything about this restaurant is absolutely spot-on - the relaxed, warm welcome and similarly relaxed atmosphere are in contrast to the technical quality of the food and the well-balanced service, which was attentive without being in your face. The accompanying wine flight was expensive for what it was, but I'm not going to begrudge that because it's all part of the experience of dining in a remarkable restaurant such as this. Definitely coming again.
