First impressions were somewhat disappointing. The venue feels old and outdated, however the food was great and we enjoyed our dinner. Service was what you would expect. There is limited parking at the back, with alternative parking area within walking distance.

Our waitress Andy was delightful and knowledgeabl, the restaurant manager Flo was amazing and charming.The food was world class, we came from Switzerland and especially booked here to experience what we had heard so much about.Beautifully prepared imaginative menu with superb wine pairing.As in all establishments the chef/owner normally appears sometime during the course of the service for a short exchange with his guests, but Matt spent the entire evening talking with his regular customers and ignored the rest, he came past us and looked me straight in the face, I said âgood eveningâ and he turned tis nose up and walked purposefully away!My whole party were shocked and quite disgusted at this extremely rude and arrogant behaviour, and the people we were dining with who have just moved to the Cape have vowed never to return again!What a shame!Matt; you should stay at home or meet your friends elsewhere and leave the people sponsoring your lifestyle to enjoy their meals without suffering your arrogance,Thank you for the splendid review on the food, we are an incredibly passionate bunch, obsessed a bit , who love to get creative with the flavour combinations and wine pairings, and I believe that this love is what you experienced with us. I am pleased that you had such a great experience and that you received great service from Andy and that Flo made you feel welcome. I visit almost every table every night, balance working in the kitchen, the bar supporting my front of house team and tending to my guests- this can be intense sometimes. Sitting with my guests is my favourite part of the enjoyment of doing what I do, and welcoming guests into my home(spun) is at the top of my list. Iâm really sorry that I didnât sit with you. Next time you come I would love to join you, but only if you have a tequila with me

Weâve been anxiously awaiting the opening as we watched them revamp and get it ready and finally got around there yesterday. WOW - blown away !!!We had a small wait as they were super busy but quickly got a table outside (got blankets for our legs).The service was INCREDIBLE ... the food was DELICIOUS and the energy really great.It looks beautiful inside and outside and it will definitely be our new neighborhood favorite

Called here on our last day in Cape Town for lunch, only drank there previously. Ordered the fish and chips, OMG, so nice and fresh. Staff very friendly and attentive. Will be going back when in Cape Town again.

We enjoyed a lovely early lunch. Excellent drinks and meal selection. Food well prepared and presented, good value for money. Lovely desert selection. Great service and patrons are made to feel welcome and comfortable. Stunning location overlooking the ocean. Highly recommended.

My wife and I met a few friends here for lunch one lovely Spring day. The Damhuis is larger than I imagined and has quite extensive indoor and outdoor seating. Their menu is quite varied and reasonably priced. We all ordered different dishes and were all extremely happy with our choices. The wine list, too, was varied and reasonable but we brought our own wine and paid corkage. The service was excellent throughout. Very nice lunch!Thank you so much George. See you again soon!
