A unique taste of Puerto Rican and International cuisine.
SUMMATION: The food, service, and value were excellent. The décor and ambience were okay.GENERAL: I reviewed this place in detail 28 December 2013, more briefly 17 February 2014, and nothing much has changed. I will just consider new things.NAME: Hollyâs Café and RestaurantTITLE: âExcellent Food and Serviceâ [Tripadvisor, review #61, 8 May 2014]OCASSION: Lunch for 37 people.LOCALITY: Hollyâs Café and RestaurantWAITERS: The usual 2 good, quick, efficient, and very professional onesDRINKS: Ice water during the meal and coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, hot water, and hot milk with desert. They used a very nice, hot-beverage, serving tray for each table.BREAD: 2 slices of pan de aqua and butterSALAD: Romaine and croutons with ranch dressing was excellent. ENTRÃE: Two slices of lean roast pork topped with applesauce and cinnamon were excellent, but would have been even better with more salt.SIDES: A large piece of cooked Bok Choy was a bit tough, but had an excellent flavor, and complimented the pork well. A bowl of croutons, baby shitocky mushroom pieces, caramelizes onions, topped with melted, shredded Parmesan cheese was excellent. DESERT: Kahlua cheesecake with a chopped walnut crust was excellent. It had more egg and less cheese than usual.COMPARISON: Much better than the Hiltonâs [1] Castillo HEALTH: This was an excellent, relatively low-calorie meal.TRIPADVISOR: rated a little better than average, 3.5 out of 5, 3 reviews [2]FOOTNOTES:[1] Mayaguez Resort and Casino[2] I was surprised by their one bad rating. Within the hotel ratings there were 11 comments on this restaurant: 1 poor, 3 very good, and 6 excellent = 4.0 out of 5 (Very Good)

Recently visited El Castillo restaurant but did not like the food quality. Didnt like the chicken breast or the stuffed mofongo. Fairly overpriced although nice 90's ambience that reminded me of my childhood. Try visiting for the buffet lunch options but skip evening dinning. Won't be back in quite a while.
