Must be the worst pub in Maldon? Staff rude and disrespectful can’t even be bother to string a sentence together (saying that maybe they couldn’t???).There’s plenty of good quality pubs in Maldon so we’d recommend missing this one altogether Oh no, this isn't what we like to hear. Your feedback has deeply disappointed us. We like to think that we are one of the best pubs in Maldon and regularly get great reviews complimenting our fab staff and guests enjoy our quirky decor, games, food and cocktails! 2. The Deck House

I was really disappointed with my food and drinks experience whist visiting this restaurant / clubhouse during a recent stay on the park. Two glasses of wine and two soft drinks came to nearly £20. They charged £2 each for children's fruits shoots which is extortionate. You can buy 6 fruit shoots for £1 in a supermarket so we took our own in with us the next day we went to the clubhouse!!The food choice was basically 'fried something with chips' and if you were lucky, you might actually be able to place an order if you turn up at the 'right time' - twice we were told that they were not serving food at the time (not advertised) and on the third occasion (when we were told to come back before 9pm), we were told that they had stopped food orders early tonight !!What a shame - this place has SO much potential, especially with the fantastic views from the decking area on the seawall. Why doesn't this place have a website detailing menu's and opening times?I would like to say that the entertainment was really good in the evening - no complaints there :)One last moan - The bottom step on the steps from the clubhouse to the decking area on the seawall has a piece of wood / pvc missing, exposing a slippery metal surface which I slipped on when I stepped on it. I was not injured but this is an accident waiting to happen I'm afraid.

Brasserie 1

The Brasserie has started to provide table service and we had a great meal. We were on a Groupon but the choice was fine and the food well cooked. Starters I had a buffalo mozzarella salad and y husband had melon with mint dressing and mixed berries, both good, For a main I had an aubergine saltibucca and my husband the blade of beef. My veggie option was excellent and would have been suitable for a vegan - really tasty and perfectly cooked and well displayed. My husbands blade of beef was cooked so it cut like butter and her said it was excellent (not an easy thing to do with blade as it can be chewy). Mains cae with loads of vegDesert is buffet style, the chocolate mousse was lovely, the tiramasu was a bit oddly watery but overall taste was ok. We had great speedy and attentive service but I was aware that whether you got good service was a bit of a table lottery and we happened to be well poisitioned. Some people who arrived before us were only being served mains as we left and at least one person had to go and ask for service. The waiters were constantly busy but seemed a bit disjointed. Improve this and the buffet deserts and the whole experience would be 5 * , nearly there but not quite but definately a well done
