A visit to Lincoln wouldnt be complete without a visite to Ole Ole a family run establishment that offers fantastic tapas which based on their set menu offers great value. We went on a Sunday evening when it was pretty full but the service was excellent & the staff were all very friendly. We ended up with a complimentry tot of caramel flavoured vodka which was so delicious that we purchased a bottle which apparently is made up in house. A family run business that richly deserves to succeed.

The Old Bakery Restaurant with Rooms is ideally located in the Uphill area of Lincoln, close to Lincoln Cathedral, Castle and many other points of historic interest in the Cathedral Quarter with itâs popular mix of original shops, cafes and public houses
We have visited on several occasions. The first tasting menu was really good. the second not so. The third was poor.We decided to try again and had the two course a la carte lunch menu. The starters were very well presented and very good, however, the main courses did not have the attention to detail that I expect from a restaurant of this price range. A modest bottle of wine is £22 and two courses around £28. Two of our group had lamb, which was a little tough and I had the fillet of beef, which was of such inferior quality, had I seen it in a cheap supermarket, I would have rejected it on its appearance alone. It had thick fat running through it and was difficult to cut. Had I been the chef, I would not have allowed that cut of meat to be prepared, never mind served to a customer. At the conclusion of our main course a waiter asked if everything had been fine. I pointed out that my beef was inedible and nobody had bothered to ask how our meals were after serving them. He apologised, but the £4 supplement still appeared on the bill! This place appears to survive on voucher deals and presumably they are cutting costs to maintain the profit margin. There are plenty of places within a five minute walk that are significantly less expensive and consistently better. The Old Bakery needs to do much better.

Bailgate Deli, in Lincoln's historic Cathedral Quarter, is a vegan and vegetarian café and deli. Our food is almost entirely made in-house. The menu includes standard items such as a full vegan breakfast and a mezzanine plate added to by daily specials (w
We stumbled across this little cafe at lunchtime and ordered toast made of sourdough with avocado and fried mushrooms for me and with 3 types of hummus with couscous salad for my other half. All the food appeared and tasted fresh and delicious, and in decent amounts and we shared. Other people had tasty looking falafel and meze. Soup was unavailable as still being cooked at midday. The place was spotlessly clean and the service friendly and helpful. Recommended for veggies or vegans, and they sell a fair range of vegan produce.

Had a Family visit, so book a table for six here. And wasn't disappointed. The food is always very good (have the scotch egg starter it's fantastic). Starters are about £7 with main about £16. It's a great place to eat and I always have a good night out here.
