今日は広迄車の車検見積もりに行った帰りにランチによりました。何度か行ったことがありますがドライブを兼ねて足を延ばしましたが、昼時とあって広い駐車場には車が多く停まっていました。海が見えるボックス席に通されましたがテーブルは大きな石を造作しており珍しいもので、雨でしたが海には牡蠣いかだが沢山あり瀬戸内海の静かな海は綺麗でした。牡蠣を食べている人が多かったですが地元では珍しくないので、日替わり定食の海老かつとハンバーグと鶏の胡麻風味甘酢和えを注文。味と料理の多さと景色には地元でも有名で美味しかったです。呉からは遠いですが時間に余裕のある人は是非訪れて下さい。

宿泊したホテルに朝食がなかったので、この店で軽く朝食をいただきました。「焼き鮭朝定食」です。早い、安い、ほどほどの栄養が確保できるので、ガストのモーニングは出張時によく利用しています。味はこのようなものがいただければ十分です。

The best U.S. analogy I have is Denny's, but this is much more Japanese. Simple, smaller but filling dishes, reasonably priced. By simple I mean you can get a meal with a ground beef patty, but not a hamburger in the Denny's sense. If you don't speak Japanese, just point to the picture in the menu. Both western and Japanese type dishes. A picture of a mug next to the menu item means you get unlimited trips to the beverage bar which has a wide variety of soft drinks. I went there several times on a recent trip to Kure and will go back when I return.

海軍の街として有名な広島県呉市にある、大正時代に創業したという老舗の食堂です。呉市名物のカレー、肉じゃが、うどんはもちろんありますがオススメは特製カツ丼でしょう。オーダーして１分と経たないうちに提供される料理は、予想したものとは大きく異なります。まず丼ではなく深めのお皿、豚カツではなくビーフカツ、さらに卵とじやソースではなくかかっているのはシチューといった感じです。ぜひ一度お試しください。

バイキング主体だが、ルームサービスもここがやっている。カレーは美味いが期待が大き過ぎたせいかもう一つ。朝食のコーヒーはエスプレッソが薄い。

昭和的な、個性的な「森田食堂」です。地元の人のための食堂って感じですね。私は肉うどんと冷蔵庫に作り置きしてあるサバ煮を食べました。おいしかったですよ。ちなみに、冷蔵庫に作り置きしてあるってところが、昭和的ですね。もし、観光で「呉」を訪れて、呉のローカル感を感じたいならば、ぜひ、「森田食堂」に行くべきですね。お勧めします。
