Reviews on International food in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. Johannesburg is the place to go to mix big-city culture, shopping, dining and nightlife with outdoor adventures, up-close wildlife encounters and visits to historical sites. Explore caves and nature reserves, or visit a traditional village by day, then enjoy dinner at a hip cafe or five-star restaurant. And if you're a shopper, bring an extra, empty suitcase. With malls, open-air markets and places that blend the two, you'll find plenty of unique souvenirs.

Marble offers Joburg diners something different â not just a plate of food, but a theatre of experience. Marble celebrates the quintessential South African tradition of cooking on fire â and not just meat, but all types of ingredients cooked on coals â in
Found the restaurant on google and based on the website, we decided to celebrate birthday's. Being from Durban, the restaurant was slightly difficult to find based on WAZE. Parking is very inconvenient as we had to walk in heels to the restaurant which was a good walk away. Upon the elevator doors opening, the restaurant is beautiful, well lit and spacious. we where escorted to our table and asked immediately to place our drink orders. Once the drinks arrived we where asked to place our orders. the waiter insisted we place our starters and mains at the same time. We asked the waiter for his suggestions and ironically he pushed the most expensive meals down our throat, R900 for a steak sheesh dairy cow or not that is a bit much! However we managed to order what WE wanted. The prawn and avo starter is absolutely amazing and is a must try, for my main i had the sirloin steak, was not the greatest but was good. The dessert menu then came, and i had to remind the waiter that we where celebrating two birthdays'. I made a reservation and sent a follow up email to confirm this. I was a bit annoyed with having to remind the waiter that we were celebrating a birthday in front of the people who where celebrating their birthdays. We received ice cream with a card. We also had the ice cream cookie, nothing extraordinary, but the cinnamon meringue is amazing.Visit for the experience, and Instagram photo but nothing would really make me want to return.

Tasty breakfast very well prepared, excellent service, good coffee (will ask for extra large cup next time). Definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended- but be sure to get there early. It is a smallish venue, and popular. Creamy mushrooms - to die for!

A stalwart of the Rosebank scene. I've visited here on many occasions while visiting Joburg. Good mixed menu of burger/salad/grill type options, in a buzzy setting at the heart of the mall. A classic brunch spot too and great for people watching. Service always friendly, but can be a little slow, especially when busy.

Salvation Cafe is a hidden gem in the middle of 44 Stanley; an oasis in the urban jungle of Joburg; a sanctuary amidst olive and leopard trees; a must-do for visitors and locals alike; a locals favorite with international allure. Come and enjoy an award-w
Salvation Cafe never disappoints - food and service always great. We waited minutes for a table at this very busy restaurant and were seated the trees . The restaurant is vibrant, busy, and extremely popular. The calamari was declared to be the best ever as were the burgers and my chicken Caesar salad was delicious. Great ingredients and great service. Fantastic lunch spot in jhb.

A world class restaurant renowned for exceptional seafood, meats wine & service. Master of elegant, yet trendy dining, overlooking the Melrose Arch Piazza.
We had a delicious family meal at this upscale seafood restaurant. It may specialize in seafood but the grill was also fantastic. We were a family of four with two teenagers. The restaurant offered a great range of starters and main courses. Overall a great meal at a very reasonable price.

We had twice breakfast and once dinner. The breakfast is outstanding especially there breads and sushi. We loved it and service was 15/10. Dinner was no so good especially the veg mnu. The risotto was really bad. Soup as ok. But service was superb.Dear nirajsomaiya,Thank you for your review of your visit to the Saxon and your meals with us. It is wonderful to hear that you found the service to be 15/10 but we are disappointed that you did not enjoy the veg menu. The exciting addition to Clico was the new restaurant opened in October 2015. Off-street parking accessible from Jellicoe Avenue allows for easy access to Clico Restaurant. Clico has become renowned for being an intimate establishment, offering personalis
Creative menu that will satisfy any foodie, making use of seasonal/local ingredients, presented beautifully by a chef who obviously takes pride in his work. He made a point of visiting our table when we arrived. We stayed at the hotel and liked the food so much we ate at the restaurant every night rather than venturing out. We couldn't imagine finding better elsewhere!Dear gmw725, Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. It's lovely reading how you enjoyed your time and Clico and we proud to hear how you enjoyed the meals and that you got to meet our Chef. Who is indeed a very creative chef. We look forward to having you back with us real soon. Kind RegardsJaco Wheeler

The menu was good, and the ambience was great, but the highlight of our lunch was really the Waitron. Such an absolute pleasure! He was knowledgeable and witty and had an amazing sense of humour. He also suggested beautiful dishes that were the highlight of our meal!
