We have visited this restaurant several times between July and December 2017. The owner is a hipster with a a penchant for detail due to running a restaurant in the Caribean for many years before taking over this one earlier in the year. Menu is a small one but the choice is excellent. Service is good but can be a bit slow on a warm day when it is very busy on the terrace on the riverside. This is not a problem. The bar serves an excellent choice of beers, amongst others from local microbreweries. Very pleasant experience.

At the recommendation of the proprietors of the gorgeous de Heerlijkheid B&B in Ruinerwold, we eat at The Olde Posthus on Saturday night, 27April 2019. A warm welcome from the chef/proprietor of 25 years was matched by the appropriate and happy attention by the two young ladies who served us. Their English was so much better than our Dutch and their willingness to find out those odd words they didn't know was done cheerily.The food was very tasty, excellent portions and great ingredients. Some may prefer more highly flavoured dishes but the asparagus soup was perfect as was the delicately flavoured veal. Beware of the surprise deserts - after starter and desert we were challenged to do justice to the fresh desert - though we manfully rose to the challenge.The small wine list provided us with the gentle Malbec that was an appropriate accompaniment to the veal.A fabulous setting and gorgeous period house with space between the tables allowing a feel of privacy all add to the appeal of the evening.Will certainly return if we can find ourselves in that part of the country again.

This restaurant was recommended by our gracious host at The Rheezer Kamer, our wonderful B&B. Had a lovely bike-ride over. Initially were taken aback a little upon entering; with the 'pannenkoekenhuis' in the same entrance, it feels very touristy and run-of-the-mill.However, once you enter the restaurant this feeling vanishes; especially if the weather is as wonderful as during our visit. The walled garden is really very nice.Then: the food! Actually we were surprised at the creativity and high standard. And: when as a vegetarian I mentioned I wasn't too keen on the veggie alternatives on the menu immediately there was a small consultation with the kitchen and I got a wonderful piece of freshly smoked salmon which wasn't (yet) on the menu. Dessert, again, was a feast for the eye, ánd mouth.We left as two very happy customers. (I've got some nice pictures, can't see how to upload them yet but will try as they give a good idea of the wonderful dishes)

We dined twice in two nights, in this walking-distance restaurant. The friendly service and great local beer were two highlights. Although the entire menu was written in Dutch, Google Translate and sound effects with the waitress helped our choices! The food was abundant, served at the perfect temperature, and paired with lovely side dishes. We had the duck, wiener schnitzel, rack of lamb and the salmon, and all were equally delicious. We shared the waffle and fresh sorbet dessert, which was also great. The presentation was very good, and the seating area outside in the summer evening sun was perfect. Definitely a great all round experience.

Myself and a group of friends arranged to meet at Nielz for evening drinks. It was a warm evening and so lovely to sit outside on the wooden benches with lots of cushions, or the chairs around the tables. Someone came pretty quickly to take our order for drinks and snacks, but the actual serving of the order took around 10 minutes or more. It wasn't too bad though, considering just how many customers were sitting outside on the terrace and the small number of servers! The serving staff were very polite. The atmosphere was nice. I will return in the future for another pleasant evening here.

We hebben hier redelijk gegeten, maar ook niet meer dan dat. Vooraf goed smakende carpaccio, echtgenote had scampi's die ook lekker waren. Daarna varkenssaté, grote portie met neutraal smakende saus. Met weinig fantasie opgemaakt, jammer want voor ⬠20,00 mag je heel wat meer verwachten. Vriendelijke dames in de bediening, maar niet vlekkeloos. Bestelling glas wijn vergeten, afruimen duurde te lang. De koffie was overigens erg lekker!

On the 23rd of January 2016 we ate at the Auberge 't Asje. Me and my gay husband and my three sisters and two brothers and their wives and husbands. We always have a New Years family Dinner. This time my youngest sister and her husband chose the restaurant. The place is in the middle of nowhere (small village) but it's easy to find with navigation. I guess it used to be a farmers place. Anyway we were welcomed with a sweet variation of prosecco (kir royalle). Then we had 7 courses. First a tartar of tuna and gambas. Then carpaccio of veal. Then eel soup, then coquilles and then duck and after that cheese platter and last but not least white chocolate ice with orange mousse. It was all really nice prepared and the cook explained every dish with great enthusiasm. We definitely can recommend this place. We had a great time. The staff was really pleasant and kind. Two dumbs up!

Een bijzondere plek om eens te eten. De kaart is apart. De groente is het hoofdgerecht en vlees en of vis altijd een supplement . Wij hadden een vijfgangenmenu en eerlijk waar al die gangen waren verrukkelijk en ware smaakexplosies.De bediening is echt top en ze weten echt je het gevoel te geven dat ze er helemaal voor je zijn.De kennis van wat ze serveren is super. Ze weten echt wantte vertellen en hebben grote wijnkennis.Een topavond hier, ik vraag me af wanneer ze hun eerste ster gaan krijgen want die is hier zeker terecht.

We visited this restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary in private, and we were pleasantly surprized about the variety of very nice combinations of food we found on our plates. All made fresh, absolutely made with love, and tasting ever so good!If you enjoy a night out with good treaties and well chosen wine, go here. No loud music nor loud guests, very friendly servants, no wonder we really enjoyed our evening out.
