Things to do in Hartland
My good friend moved back to Wisconsin a few months ago so it has given me a chance to get to know this quaint town in Wisconsin. On my first visit a few weeks ago my friend made sandwiches for us to have for lunch. I commented on the delicious flavor of the bread she used and of course wanted to know where she had bought it. She shared with me that it was a grocery market not too far from where she lives and of course I wanted to check it out and what a surprise it was to step in to this very nice specialty market! They have an incredible selection of prepared food, grocery items, produce, and, bakery goods which of course Is where I headed to pick up a loaf of the delicious multi-grain bread that my friend buys. Sadly they only had one loaf left which my friend picked up first not knowing it was the last one, but that was okay with me as I was planning another trip there a few weeks later and it was on my bucket list to go shopping there to get a coupe loaves to bring home. When I returned last week and before taking off for home I made sure to get to the store bright and early to pick up the bread! I am enjoying it every morning and of course will visit my friend again and stop by the market for my bread fix. This is a great place to stop in at when you are traveling in this area they have everything you need whether your camping or just going on a picnic. Check it out you will not be disappointed!

5 of us went out to celebrate a 60th birthday of a friend. This was a new experience for all of us...and the birthday boy likes supper clubs. The restaurant itself was quite quaint and over all the food was good, however some of the menu selections for dinner left me a bit up in the air. I was looking for a steak, and there were limited choices. The tenderloin intrigued me, however it was only offered with shrimp and scallops and I have a shellfish allergy. I was offered a tenderloin sandwich...there are no other options. So I went totally into left field with grandma's fried chicken. Well let me tell you ...grandma must have died of high cholesterol because the half chicken on my plate had at least a 1/4 inch of breading fried onto it and the grease flowed out onto my plate when I pulled the skin back. The chicken itself was moist but I am not sure it was 100% cooked. The rest of our party ordered the specials for Saturday and they were pleased with their meals so all was not lost. It was a 60th birthday celebration and we mentioned that several times-no cake was ever offered...not a game changer but most places will offer that.

We enjoyed a formal night out on Lake Okauchee via the Golden Mast. Staff was friendly and quick despite being VERY busy. Friday fish fry was delicious and more food than we could handle. You can arrive by boat or car. Beautiful views inside and out.

We love this place. The food is really great. Try the fish fry with potato pancakes (great potato pancakes) or the swiss mushroom burger, particularly if a bearded guy named Devin is behind the bar cooking. Their wings and pizza are also excellent. The ambiance is welcoming and casual, with a Harley theme ... a classy biker bar, if you will. Parking can be limited for cars, with ample bike parking, and you can also come by boat. It really reminds me of a nice up north bar and I love having that option down in this part of the state. There is a cute boutique shop for jewelry and other items on the lower level. Overall, I really recommend Hollywood's for a casual bite to eat or drinks on any night of the week!
