Reviews on International food in Fatima, Central Portugal, Portugal. Lovely as it is, this little country town of less than 8,000 about 75 miles north of Lisbon wouldn’t be on the radar if it weren’t for its most famous citizens: the three shepherd children who, in 1917, saw monthly visions of the Virgin Mary in the Cova da Iria pasture. Today, the site is marked by the Basílica de Fátima, where pilgrims come on the 13th of every month to honor the Virgin and her young visionaries, especially in May and October, when the apparitions originally began and ended.

Nice, friendly and cozy restaurant. Modern design. Pleasant environment. Open kitchen. Author's kitchen.
We arrived just as A Cave was opening for dinner at 7:00pm. Since the menus are written in Portuguese, the chef/host Angelo explained everything to us in English. He explained how each meal was prepared and suggested we try the Vinho Verde, which became a favorite wine while we were in Portugal. We really enjoyed the starter tray, and our dinners were extremely tasty and presented beautifully. The desserts, coconut and pear, were equally amazing. We were so impressed with Angelo who kept coming over to our table to check on us and answer any questions we had. We felt as though we had our own personal chef for the evening! It really was an outstanding experience - our best meal in Portugal!Thank you very much.It was a pleasure to serve you.

After visiting the pilgrimage site, we took a short break at the nearby Santa Cruz Cafe. The coffee and cake were fine, if you are looking for a full meal this maybe, is not the place for you, but it suited us well on the day.Thank you for your appreciation. We hope to meet you again soon on our terrace

Buffet restaurant and "à la carte" service in the center of Fátima! We are experts in all the typical Brazilian food with the seasoning and flavor of Brazil, but here you can also taste various other Portuguese and European dishes ... Self-service | Free
Typical buffet, you need to select from the freshly offered dishes and ignore the ones that are past their sell by date (the chips were well past on the day we visited)But on balance, very good value in an overpriced tourist trap only a couple of hundred metres from the Fatima sanctuary, close to the Wax Museum. It's â¬7 for the starter/main food buffet, +â¬1.50 for a drink/bebida (beer, wine or soft drink) AND a coffee (beautifully strong) and another â¬1.50 for dessert/sobramesa. â¬10 for a very acceptable lunch is a bargain.
