In the Ködmön Restaurant you can enjoy the tradicional hungarian dishes by cheerfull gipsy music, and where you can taste the excellent wines of Eger. The restaurant possesses an Europian Union Protectorate, because of its high-class gastronomic activity.
This restaurant seems to be an obvious choice if you are in Szépasszonyvölgy. It looks like as a decent, high level restaurant. We had big expectations (not just because we were hungry) but this place was a real disappointment. The young waitress lady was absolutely unprofessional and incompetent. Seemingly she had no clue about the wines, wanted to take away my dish while I was eating. The foods were in the bottom-average category however their prices were significantly high, especially if compared to the level of the surrounding restaurants. So the price-value ratio here is very weak.I would not recommend this place.

We came in the evening (18.00) for 'all you can eat' occasion. Drinks included in this offer are only sparkling ones, like coke or sprite. The food was very average, one salad didn't look fresh at all, mostly meats, so i don't recomment it to vegetarians and definitely not for vegans. But for travelers on a budget it is something worth checking out. I only liked cold sour cherry soup.

If you want to taste real Hungarian desserts, then this is the place. They have a great selection of truly local concoctions. All delicious. In addition, there is a buffet of local food. And the prices are quite reasonable. Just remember this one thing. TAXES. The Hungarian government has a 27% tax on drinks - every kind of drink, including bottled water, at restaurants. It is basically a tourist tax. Be prepared.

FÅtér Cafe Restaurant is located in the Main Square of Eger.
Nice restaurant in good location near the square. We had the steak, the fried chicken in cheese with mash (delicious and plentiful - real comfort food), and two pizzas for the children, plus starters prawns and tuna salad. The tuna salad was excellent, as were the main courses - husband particularly praised the steak. Our waitress spoke English because she had lived there for a couple of years, and was really helpful and friendly. Really enjoyed the food, and didn't think it was too badly priced given the top location (although probably not cheap as Hungary is not an expensive place to eat if you are used to UK prices). All in all a good experience. Was a bit put off initially as when we went in to ask for a table for four we were indicated to go inside with a fairly curt nod of the head, but appreciate that we do not speak Hungarian and some of the staff may not speak English, so the usual discussion is always going to be a bit cut short/odd.

Our Restaurant, the Macok Bistro and Wine Bar is a jaunty and youthful restaurant where international dishes are presented in local style with wine specialties which can be found only in the cellars of enthusiastic collectors. Our Restaurant is located in
Great setting right under the castle. Bright and modern space. Food was also excellent. Wine amazing. However, we did have issues with the service. I don't think it is down to the waiter to comment on what we order and how much we drink... It was a long wait for the food as well. Some of the staff seemed to avoid us presumably because they were not too confident about their English. Next time we will try a cheaper place as we didn't think that the service was up to the caliber of the restaurant. There is a wine shop on site as well.
