Four us us arrived at about 4:00 for Happy Hour. When we seated outdoors, the waitress brought dinner menus. We asked for and received happy hour menus. The selections were such that to satisfy your appetite, you needed to order two. The calimari was especially delicious as were the sliders. The drinks were good as was the service. Before departing, we took a look inside the old building an met the owner who was an very interesting and informative person. All in all, we will be going there in the future. Old Wethersfield is a beautiful area in Connecticut and worth a visit just to see the homes.

This is an excellent restaurant in area devoid of other restaurant choices. This part of Washington Street has little to offer except for the Hartford Hospital complex and the Superior Court a decent walk away. Nevertheless it is a fine restaurant in a well appointed building. The menu offers a good array of choices for lunch from excellent hamburgers to delicious wraps to individual pizzas. There are also more substantial entrees as well.

Although the lunch got off to a rocky start, with poor service at first, things really picked up at a certain point, and all was well, despite inconsistencies. The food was excellent. The ample burger was so wonderful that I thought about it, and lusted for another one, for several hours. The trout was excellent, too, but there was ridiculously little food on the plate, given its price -- a small rectangle of fish, just 5 half-pieces of fingerling potato, no rolls or side salad. Prices are reasonable for most things, but you might find it really pricey to bring a family with several children here. Decent variety of alcoholic drinks available. The downside here is that the tables and some seating are really shabby. The banquettes are really very dirty and need to be reupholstered desperately. The tables are rickety, rocking back and forth (with people sticking the table tents under the legs), and paint is flaking off the tables. With no cloths or place mats, the flaking paint and the stickiness of the tables is really unappealing. But go here for the delicious food and convenience.

Nestled on the pond in historic Elizabeth Park the Pond House is surrounded by gardens & offers four seasons of charm with a menu to match. Changed seasonally we offer eclectic comfort food that reflects the down to earth but playful spirit of our staff.
I have passed by this place on several occasions and even had gone to exhibits there, but this is the first time I ate there. It was a very pretty day and many had the same idea as my friend and I. Eating outside is first come, first serve. We had made reservations which are taken for eating inside or on the "open" porch which we did. A "tablet" is given to you as your menu where you can go over the specials and other offerings. Our server, Michael, was great and very helpful. We both chose the "Lady Astor" chicken salad sandwich on croissant which came with a chopped salad. We enjoyed it and our time to catch-up, relaxing at the restaurant. We both passed on dessert and left very satisfied.
