Things to do in Dominica
We had traveling around the island all day and just wanted somewhere to have a nice family dinner. The exterior of the building has this real rustic Caribbean seafood restaurant look with giant ropes hanging out front. Immediately the sound of quiet jazz music filled our ears on entering. My husband looked at me and we knew to expect a good night. The service was amazing. We were immediately lead to a table outside and had our glasses filled with water.; it was incredible. The staff were very friendly and catered to all our needs. The backdrop of the sun setting over the Caribbean Sea was also a really cool touch. I had the shrimp scampi while my husband had the T-bone steak. The kids on the other hand settled for wraps and quesadillas. We all cleaned our plates and for the first time ever I didn't have to beg the kids to eat all their food. For dessert we were served their deep-fried ice-cream; something we never got elsewhere During our stay in Dominica. Even after our meal we remained to chat with the owners who were very nice people. The overall experience was remarkable. The next time we visit, Sardonyx Restaurant will be our first stop!

After getting into our villa outside Calibishie, we were looking for a place to go. Bamboo Restaurant fit the bill perfectly. Friendly host, very good food, great ambiance (our family had three of the chicken dishes and each was very good). Just perfect!

Called an "underground of fine dining" "supper clubs" or "closed-door restaurants", the phenomenon of dining directly in chef's house gets increasingly popular. And this is what we are. We serve upscale world-fusion dishes with strong influence of Mediter
We were the lucky ones to have been the first customers to enjoy this exciting addition to the Dominican culinairy scene. This is a so-called "Closed door restaurant" or "Living room restaurant" with a Table d'hôte like menu. All the details are on the website, but the prooof is in eating the pudding. And that was the best experience we had for a long time.Margaret and Derek are real fine food aficionados. They are constantly looking for the best quality and if they are not satisfied with what is available on the island they will import it. That makes their kitchen incomparable with the usual local cuisine, because part of the food comes from over-seas.The setting is in a romantic old plantation house with an eclectic collection of furniture. All in all it is an once in a lifetime experience. Highly recommended.Thank you for such fantastic first review! We love preparing fine food, but it is knowing that our work is appreciated, that will keep us going. We just made more of these fine Greek olives in red wine/brandy marinade with herbs. Got our food shipment last week, so we will add new things to our offer. You were so nice and gracious guests, I can only hope our experience with guests will always be as good as with you. We hope to see you back one day. Cheers! And - thank you again!

While visiting friends in Portsmouth we were invited to join them for a meal at Sisters Beach bar. Tucked away and right on the beach it was a perfect setting. The welcome was friendly and the music videos being played on a big screen gave way to some great reminiscing as the play list was very good. Not loud at all but enough to enjoy while chatting. The menu had a good selection including localy caught lionfish which is good news for the reefs.Over all the food was excellent. The service was very friendly and informal and I would certainly recommend Sisters to anyone. To find it turn off the main road behind the IGA supermarket and drive for 1/2 mile straight toward the beach. Ample parking also.

An unexpected gem nestled in the heart of Roseau. Our well stocked bar is housed in a typical Creole cottage of over 100 years old! Inspired by the melting pot of cultures that is the Caribbean, we at Fusion Village welcome our customers to a fine interna
I have to say this was my go to place for lunch in Roseau but the last time left me disappointed....apparently they couldn't serve cocktails at lunch time because the bar staff weren't there. The risotto was NOT risotto which was very disappointing and they've stopped making the salmon pasta which was amazing.....they have another recipe but it just isn't right..... I sooooo want to still like this place but may have to look elsewhere.......

The restaurant is an octagonal building, on top of the cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The kitchen offers a wide range of local Creole as well as international dishes, appetizers, snacks, salads and desserts prepared with fresh local ingredients.Spec
We rented an apartment at Mero beach (10 minutes drive away), so we can't comment on the hotel facilities here. It's under Swiss/German ownership/management, and it all seems very well run. The restaurant here was highly recommended to us (by the Swedish owner of our rental apartment), and we specially went-over the day beforehand (for a sandwich lunch) in order to make the necessary dinner reservations for next evening. We noticed that on special request lobster can be ordered (a day or so beforehand), so we did. And it was lovely!! As appetizer we took the smoked marlin (capers, onion, toast), which was also good. It was nice to enjoy the beautiful sunset while having dinner outside, high on the hill, close to the rim, overlooking the quiet sea. Recommendable, but don't forget to make dinner reservations beforehand (as the number of tables is limited, and their own hotel guests are eating here as well). Best to start and order dinner early: at least before most other tables are filling-up, because otherwise it can take quite a while before your meal is being served. Lunch (the day beforehand) was good as well, lovely salads and sandwiches on the menu.

Located on the lovely Batalie Beach embracing the pristine turquoise blue Caribbean Sea, the "lobster Palace" provides an exotic dining venue with our popular lobster dishes for both local and visitors alike. At the âLobster Palaceâ Restaurant fresh local
It seems to be in the middle of nowhere...and you may pass by while driving to fast...but you have to go the small road down to have a great welcome of the owner and great food with an unbelievable view...the name is Programm the sunset is incredible..we had no luck while the sea is so rough...there was no lobster at the lobster place. But the chef recommended lovely tenderloin steak and shrimps in an exotic sauce...as a starter we had raw marinated fish with a nice dressing.Get there, enjoy food and drinks and get in touch with the family of sunset bay club...you will never forget!!Thanks for the review; even without lobsters in stock at the Lobster Palace, you can still have a great time and enjoy the different meal option.
