I've traveled all around the world and It's hard to find places where so much care to good quality product and preparation is taken. This place is a little gem not to miss. It's a pleasure for the senses and your body will thank you. It has a small menu that changes constantly. Gerard (the only cook & owner) takes great care to resource the best ingredients depending on the season and availability.

We were travelling through the area and found this small restaurant to eat in at the end of a really special beach at pria do Luis. The restaurant was cheap and cheerful but the food was good and service even better. We ended up staying overnight in one of the rooms which wasclean and comfortable. We travelled round muxia and although there were places to stay and eat we found the natives grumpy so staying in this little special place with nice people was special.

Restaurante Dolce Vita

We had time for a short visit to Cullera today, and as it was a bit rushed I checked Tripadvisor for the best restaurants, so that we could head straight to one without our normal lengthy walk to compare. Number One on the list was Restaurant Dolce Vita, Calle Cabanal, Cullera. We arrived at 2:00 pm, parked virtually outside and headed for the restaurant. Now our instincts are to avoid restaurants that are empty and go for the busy ones, especially ones full of locals. We should have followed our instincts. This restaurant was not only empty but had hardly any lights on inside and no tables laid up outside. Whilst we were turning to head elsewhere a cheerful Frenchman hurried up to us and asked if we would like to sit inside our out. When we requested to sit inside he sped off and put on a few lights in a reasonably pleasant area to the rear. Still no other customers. We ordered for the €8,50 menu which didn't include drinks, always thinking that this is the Number One restaurant in Cullera according to Tripadvisor! The whole experience was dire, the food was uninteresting, the service very slow (including having to wait 10 minutes for the oven to get to temperature?!?), the wine we ordered was chilled - never good for red wine, we had to ask for bread as we were so bored waiting for our main courses and even this seemed too taxing for them, as it took 10 minutes to arrive, toasted, as it was clearly not fresh. In the entire time we were there no other diners arrived and we left extremely disappointed. We happened to pass the restaurant about an hour later and to our surprise it was locked and barred. This is a high street location in the peak summer season in Cullera!! Every other bar or restaurant we passed was open and thriving!!All this leaves us with a key question :- Who on Earth rated this place NUMBER ONE in Cullera?!?!?
