Not being a great meat eater especially beef went to this restaurant with Swiss friends who recommended it. Menu is short - entrecôte steak or go without! I was prepared not to be impressed but the quality was fantastic, so tasty, tender and succulent in fact we made a return trip within a couple of days. Restaurant is very close to the station and is somewhat unprepossessing although it has been an institution in Geneva for many years. We were recommended by our hotel.

Petit bistrot authentique des années 1900, servant pour le déjeuner une restauration a base de pâtes et pour le soir, un bar a cocktail et a vin, le tout dans une ambiance chaleureuse.
Decent pasta served in a cosy little restarant. Be prepared to queue to get a seat. Decent local wine too. Had a fantastic meal sitting at the bar. Worth the wait.

Whilst waiting for your flight this must be one of the best places to visit. The food is really good. The only complaint is that there is too much choice. On the other hand I will have to keep visiting. At lunch you can wash your meal down with a choice of many excellent beverages. The staff are always attentive. Different to other parts of Switzerland as tipping is expected.

My husband and I were staying at the Grand Kempinski Hotel and Le Grill is part of that hotel. We dined there one night and it was a great experience. The service is outstanding and the steak selections are on par with what you would find at a premium steakhouse in the US. The best part though was the dessert, a deconstructed Twix bar which was to die for! I would imagine that you would need a reservation during peak tourist times. For our trip in March we were able to get in without one.Dear Guest,Thank you for taking the time to write such a wonderful review about your recent experience at Le Grill.Your excellent comments on our outstanding service, premium selection of meat and delicious dessert are highly appreciated. I will make sure that everyone from Le Grill team will hear your kind words. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming again soon.Until then, I wish you all the best.Yours Sincerely,

My daughter comes here regularly and enjoys the food and normally has great, friendly service. We came and enjoyed the food, but had an odd experience with our waiter. My grandson spilled his water across the table. We asked the waiter for assistance. He seemed overwhelmed. Instead of a cloth towel, he proceeded to dab at the puddle with a series of paper napkins. The puddle was still there and we had to ask someone else for help.

The Restaurant Vieux Bois is a part of the Hotel Management School of Geneva (Ecole Hôtelière de Genève ). Ideally situated, in the diplomatic district, next to United Nations, in the magnificent park of Ariana and benefiting from a magnificent terrace in
I can truly recommend the Restaurant Vieux Bois to celebrate a birthday lunch. My family and I booked a table outside to celebrate my father's 80th birthday. Jenny Champod did an excellent job in ensuring we had a beautiful birthday cake and an excellent table on the terrace/patio. As starters, the foie gras and cannelloni de crabe were a success. The Gaufre (waffle) aux fines herbes was good although probably too big for a starter. The sole meuniere was delicious (recommended) and the epaule d'agneau also got top marks. The food is beautifully presented and the service was efficient and friendly. I wish all the pupils (staff) much success with their careers in the industry. Well done - and will book a table again very soon.

We were 2 couples with varied tastes and food issues. All was catered for. Lovely presentation and delicious food. Two of us had a very unusual soup made from Fennel and olive paste with cashew-nuts.( Fenolive) The caviar-beluga (lentils with pomegranate seeds) was a delight. Variety of bread rolls freshly baked at the auberge was a pleasure too. The highlight for me was the dessert. Yummy.Hello Harscharajan,Many thanks for your kind comment, and we are very happy that you had a nice time with us.We are looking forward seeing you soon.A&P@3Coqs
