Having proven its success with the first location across from the U.S. Consulate, The Beer Nest opened a second location, a bar & restaurant, at the end of August 2014. In comparison The Beer Nest II located within Tongzilinâs Renaissance complex is focus
After 3 months of traveling around China, the best beer we had was at the Beer Nest in Chengdu. Their IPA rivaled some American brews. The location is nearby some other popular expat spots (The Lazy Pug, etc.) and the ambiance is an authentic American/European pub feel. Beer is a bit pricey (40rmb for a pint of IPA) but they have happy hour specials (25% off) and, considering that you'll pay 25rmb for a Tsingtao at some bars, it's pretty reasonable for a craft beer.

I arrived very late, and not as a hotel guest staying at the hotel, but I was welcome to order until 11 pm.My food was delivered to one of the tables, even a cocktail from the hotel bar was brought. I could stay as long as I wanted well past 11:45 pm, as the only guest, without rush.NICO and the other staff was just so professional and helpful The food was delicious and a mix between local specialties and international cuisine. The prices were just normal, a very good value for the service and foodã XIE-XIE

Compared to many restaurants in chengdu, Blue Frog is very good but overall it is ok. The restaurants is very nice with dynamic and modern tables and furniture. The staff and service can be a little slow and might speak very well english. While waiting you can watch some of the sport programmes at the tv or listen to some modern music. The menu offers a very big variety of different foods (which from my point of view is not necesseraly a good thing) which most of them are good. I like the most the burgers burgers and fried squid. The price are quite high, I recommended, specially for the meat.

Fifth anniversary buffet dinner. This one is advertised as a seafood buffet, maybe that put some off? Shouldn't have because it was awesome but the lack of clientele kinda meant the atmosphere was lacking. Great seafood, especially the oysters, abalone and salmon. That was not the whole story though there was also roast lamb and a whole host of local delicacies. Good bread , no cheese though, and fabulous desserts. All this for less than 300Â¥. Will be back!
