It wasnât that busy tonight but still the service was extremely slow. Waitress was very nice but more interested in chatting than providing service. My son never complains but was ready to leave even before our first drink since that took 15 minutes before anyone came to take our order. We were going to have dessert but they took far too long so we went elsewhere for that. The food wasnât bad but not good enough to overlook the bad service. On the plus side she didnât charge us for one glass of wine. We are honest and would normally point this out but with the lousy service thats the least they could have done to compensate. We havenât been to Prime in years, what was once a large sprawling restaurant is now one cramped room with about 6 tables and some bar stools. We stood at the door for ages being ignored by a bartender making drinks and a server who sat at a table chatting with friends. They finally said we could pick from the two tables available. Why not just say that from the get go? We sat for approx 15 min completely ignored. The open concept kitchen is a poor choice when the cook is reading a book while we sat ignored. The room was too hot and humid and we finally just left and they couldnât have cared less. How is this place staying open?? They have no concept of hospitality. Hi Pocket Guide, thanks for bringing this to my attention. Iâm wondering if you could tell me which day you visited us on so that I can take a closer look? This experience isnât typical of what to expect at our location, apart from the size of course, so Iâd like to make sure it doesnât happen again. We prefer this Mandarin over the one on Upper James in Hamilton. We have frequented this location for a number of years and have always had great food and service. This was not the case on our most recent visit. I found the chicken balls very tough (difficult to cut and chew). The pepper steak was so hot that it was impossible to eat. The roast pork was very fatty. The croissants were so small (smaller than usual). Many of the other dishes were not up to the usual standards we have come to enjoy over the years. Maybe it was an off day in the kitchen BUT they really should do a little better on their quality control (try the food before you put it out). We'll given this place another chance to see if things get better, but that's about it.

From the greeting upon entering to dessert, customers are treated properly. Servers are smart, savvy and efficient. Menu has the right variety of well prepared fresh foods. We shared a starter charcuterie board and crab dip with bottle of good Malbec. Server never imposed but had perfect timing taking entree orders and food appearance was appetizing.Steak was perfectly cooked but slightly lacked adequate seasoning...wouldâve been better with a stack of frites on the plate. Halibut was nicely seared, though slightly over cooked. The generous portion of three lamb chops were beautifully cooked and seasoned-the star dish! All garnished deliciously and creatively. Tea, coffee and blueberry creme brûlée was the perfect finish. Gorgeous view of Lake Ontario glamorously changing from late afternoon to sparkly evening!

Recently went to Martini House for dinner. Based on some of the reviews, I had pretty high expectations, and my expectations were blown out of the water. We started with a nice Pinot and then had the Chef's special for the evening. Everything was spectacular, fresh flavors, beautiful sauces, vibrant colors, it just does not get any better. Service through out the evening was also excellent. Highly recommended.

So it has been awhile since the 6 of us were together for our monthly luncheon. In May it was my choice and having just returned from Spain decided on Barra Fion Tapas. What a pleasant surprise, friendly and knowledgeable staff, excellent menu selections and fantastic food. We all thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. if you like spicy and Calamari then try the Calamari Diablo amazing flavours. Will definitely go backHi there! We had a lovely dinner on the patio last week. As always, the food, service and ambiance were excellent. I've written many reviews for this restaurant - in well over 10 years of patronage we have never had a misstep with anything. Which is rare. The menu doesn't seen to change drastically; every time we go we can get our old favourites, or try something new if we're in the mood. Desserts made in house are to die for. Please support local, independent business!
