Burgos (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈbuɾɣos], UK: /ˈbʊərɡɒs/, US: /ˈbʊərɡoʊs/) is a city in northern Spain and the historic capital of Castile. It is situated on the confluence of the Arlanzón river tributaries, at the edge of the Iberian central plateau. It has about 180,000 inhabitants in the actual city and another 20,000 in the metropolitan area. It is the capital of the province of Burgos, in the autonomous community of Castile and León. Burgos was once the capital of the Crown of Castile, and the Burgos Laws or Leyes de Burgos which first governed the behaviour of Spaniards towards the natives of the Americas were promulgated here in 1512.

A place with craft beer on tap, heavy rock music and great food! Perfect place if you like that big three. Highly recommended!

Right in the centre of Burgos you can find one of the new pearls of Spanish Gastronomy: La Jamada. Antonio Arrabal, runner-up in Spanish "Top Chef" TV series 2013, opened his âtravelling cuisineâ restaurant where he mixes his traditional Spanish cooking s
Finally found a restaurant with a more international orientation in Burgos. Although I love Spanish cuisine, and the majority of Spanish chefs are great, I sometimes miss more international restaurants. To my surprise, a well known Spanish chef, Antonio Arrabal, a contestant of a televised professional cooking competition here in Spain, who almost won, opened a restaurant with more on the menu then roasted meat, a paella or a bean-stew. Starters are great with both traditional dishes (Salads, fish) as well as Sushis, tatakis, Makis and Cheviches!! And perfectly made too! Wow, finally a decent sushi without having to go to Madrid!! For the main course... well, I am always sceptical of Hamburgers but this ones... Wow (again!!) Based on traditional meats / meat dishes both from the region and Spain (lechazo, morcilla, Bellota meat) and abroad (a curry burger??) they ones we had (Lechazo and bellota) were amazing! Filling too. Luckily we had room for dessert. Wouldn't want to miss the Mochi! My partner fell for de Yuzu soup, sweet! Will go again, especially since the price is moderate. Love my town (even more!) :)

I have eating in Doña Margarita very many occasions. It is one consistent delicious experience every time, in terms of dishes' excellent flavor, imaginative compositions with local seasonal ingredients, attentive, educated and friendly service as well as the pleasant decoration/atmosphere. I can only imagine two reasons in order to understand the aggressive negative reviews from few individuals about Doña Margarita, which in my experience do not correspond with reality: 1) Reviews are coming from bitter, frustrated people who take the opportunity to vent their unhappiness regardless of the good stuff they have in front of their noses. 2) the other possibility is that they the reviewers have a prior hidden agenda and intend to give negative and untrue comments to specific restaurants and favor a restaurant they are linked to either in personal or professional capacity. Fortunately, I trust the owners and cooks at Doña Margarita are not influenced by those ill-intention comments and instead they will continue providing us with pleasurable eating happiness for a long time.
