Our restaurant opened in March 2007, in the heart of Budapestâs downtown. Situated next to the companyâs well-known Gerbeaud Confectionery and Café, our philosophy agrees: tradition and innovation. These two main sources inspired Chef Ãdám Mészárosâ cuisi
I had dinner at the Onyx with my partner to celebrate his birthday a few days ago.We enjoyed all courses and also added the foie gras option on top of the hungarian menu. Service was up to standards of such a restaurant and all procedure was seamless. Did not feel like someone went the extra mile or did an effort to personalize the service a bit, which would have been a great touch. Loved all the dishes, and the one on top in terms of presentation and flavor was the foie gras. Simply spectacular! What was not expected as much is that the whole dinner including the amuse bouche, pre dessert, and settling the bill lasted 3 hours which felt a bit tiring but not overall affecting my experience.I liked the birthday cake surprise in the end, both as a gesture and as a flavor of course! If I would see an area of improvement / consideration would be related to the service and staff to become a but more friendly and personal, and maybe the decoration becoming more minimal. After all in such a restaurant, one does not go for the food, but ambience and service are part of the experience too.Dear aggelosm1706,Thank you for your precious time for leaving this really positive feedback. We absolutely appreciate that you took the effort to share your rating and lovely opinion about Onyx Restaurant with us. Thank you for mentioning our professional staff and our tasty meals. We are so happy that you restaurant could meet with all your expectations. We honestly hope that you will visit us again, if you travel back to Budapest in the immediate future! We assure you that we will wait you with a warm welcome!Kind regards,Onyx Management

It proved to be a hit when I was here three years ago, and it still is.We all had the Chef's menue and it was superdelicious, some of us chose the pigeon, pickled ramsons, kohlrabi and mushroom, wich was a treat for the palate. Highly recommend this wonderful restaurant! We went as a group of 10 and they were extremely accommodating and helpful, we were able to relax and dine all evening. Some of us had the set menu which was great value for money but every course was stunning. Book in advance as they get very busy and people tend to stay all evening to enjoy the food and atmosphere.

Baraka is a fine dining restaurant creating gourmet Euro-Asian cuisine located in the beautiful Palazzo Dorottya very close to Vörösmarty Square. Very interesting and well developed wine list that pairs perfectly with our multi layered dishes. Food too be
It's pricing for a little bit luxurious but totally absolutely worth every penny and more. Perfect for a long nice night. What a pity we don't drink so can't say much about the wine, but the food was delicious and gorgeous. Even we only ordered the 4 course meal, but with all the little refreshmentS in between we came out felt like the fat police statue next door. They do some amazing unseen stuff with coconut and ginger, and all placed almost pity to eat. The staffs are all so nice, we got so much hause treat as well. Thank you so much! We'll definitive come again if we come back to the city.

The first Hungarian vegan buffet restaurant, come and check out the traditional Hungarian cuisineâs tasty vegan variants. Vegan and gluten-free foods/cookies also available - and handmade coffee.
So happy to have found this lovely self service vegan café cum restaurant near the green Elizabeth Bridge in central Budapest. Healthy eating was never more delicious and staff were friendly and helpful. Clearly labelled gluten-free options and free tap water too. Dinner for three with a desert was under £20. We'll be heading back here again

Books and unquenchable affection for gastronomy called up this restaurant, where we can live for both of our passion. We offer a weekly changing books inspired cuisine traditional menu and excellent drinks in addition to taste. Have you ever felt while re
FIRST IMPRESSION: absolute perfection. The idea to theme the food after a book, the interior, the welcome - all flawless! MENU CHOICE: a bit narrow, boiling down to the (innovative) specials. SERVICE: the excellent first impression was spoiled a) by lack of authentic warmth, and b) by the lack of understanding of the wines and the fact that the wines that we ordered by glass were poured to us in the kitchen and we did not get to see the bottle. FOOD: the chef is definitively a creative genius, the food pairing and presentation is fantastic. The duck, we had was a bit overdone, but the vegetables - presented as a tree and mixed with a fantastic apple cream and nuts, were a real explosion of tastes and textures! One of the best side dishes I've tasted in a long, long time. VALUE: not cheap by Budapest standards, but probably worth it. OVERALL: most certainly worth visiting, am not sure if we would go back, however.

Café 57 opened in May 2001 in the Rózsadomb or Rose Hill district of Budapest and was the first minimalist bar in the city. After a successful start, it was the guests themselves and their needs which pointed the way we developed. This is how fashionable
This restaurant is all that it is supposed to be. The service is excellent , ambiance is very nice. Nice inside and a very nice terrace area. Smallish but reasonably priced wine list with superb wines.we had a pohar dementer bikaver 2014 , equal to some our favorite French wines. The smoked salmon and goat cheese appetizer was a subline combination of flavors. Prawns were excellent and the cheesecake was one of the best we have had.Liked it so much we are going back in a couple of days

The place is a real gem which walks in the footsteps of its Maltese counterpart yet ensures a clear Hungarian imprint in its design as well as in the menu. Local fresh ingredients, sourced from the best suppliers harmoniously coexist with Caviar&Bull sign
"We will find a solution, do not worry!" The second sentence we heard after a warm welcome and when we claimed for our reservation made at Bull&Caviar... - because we did that one in Malta... - the other restaurant they have. Let me put it this way: in Switzerland or Germany I would have got told: you did it wrong, sorry, your fault. No reservation, no table, get a Burger somewhere. Here, just the opposite! We found a solution and got seated at one of the best places (in our opinion) with a quite good view into the open kitchen (which makes our stay even more interesting). What a good start! And it should be continued. We chose the Contemporary Menu since we are not so much into fish. It was a perfect choice. A marvelous mixture of modern and classic cuisine, from French to European style. Best ingredients, fresh herbs and a balanced usage of spices composed all these dishes to an outstanding menu. Nothing to complain about! The staff, just perfect! Helpful and attentive, supportive and acting professional at any time. Tamás did a great job and of course the Maitre de Service (we forgot your name man! ) who âfoundâ that solution for us, they were all an important part in this act of unforgettable dinner in Budapest! Great work! Even the dessert ended in an special kind of event: we got invited for the Chefâs table in the kitchen to see and watch the cuisine equip acting as a team to get these fantastic menu to the tables of the guests. Really highly appreciated! Go ahead in being professional like this. No comment on the ambiance this time: it is made just perfect! We strongly recommend to have a visit at this place and experience one of the best restaurants in Budapest!Dear Pallabus,Thank you so much for truly appreciating our attitude in accommodating you. We do have a solution always, you know what they say: If there is a will, there is a way. This is one of our main policy. It really is a pleasure to read such a nicely detailed review with special attention to our team. I help you with the Maitre of the night: Anthony, him and Tamas are behind me proudly noting the actions of the night and thanking the mentioning :) Looking forward to welcoming you in Budapest again, or maybe in Malta this time :)Best,

Fine dining apartment restaurant of husband and wife in the heart of Budapest. We are Igor and Zaida Zincenco, the founders of the Zincenco apartment restaurant. Gastronomy has always been our passion, our goal is to break with the often rigid atmosphere
Excellent dinner party experience at Zincenco Kitchen in August. Igor is a fantastic host and Zaida a fabulous cook. You can clearly see that both enjoy what they do. Food was an outstanding fusion of Hungarian and Eurasian cuisine and the natural wine pairing gives a comprehensive overview of what advanced wine-makers have achieved in Hungary. I recommend this highly but you must play along! Take your time, be open, chat to the other guests... This shouldnât be mistaken for a typical fine dining restaurant experience, it isnât, and thatâs why itâs so good. So please donât go there with wrong expectations.
