Cafe and bakery with delicious desserts, sandwiches, breakfast, salads and lunch. Offer a new and very nice place to enjoy a good time at Boquete
I've eaten here 3 times in the last 3 months. It was a good location for meeting a group of friends, mainly because it has parking and the location avoids the torn up roads in downtown Boquete. It's inexpensive food; its fine for the price paid; the service is a OK. It's convenient but there are places in Boquete with better quality food. Thanks for your coments. Our concept is as a Cafeteria not a Restaurant. As you mention about the quality, we select a quality and healthy products with non expensive price.

The renowned Paladar Restaurant has chosen Hotel Valle del Rio to host one of its successful restaurants. With a menu designed for the area, Paladar with its generous portions and its constancy will delight you in one of the most beautiful scenarios of bo
First, to be fair, the food is pretty good (except for the bruschetta) if overpriced, and the manager, Jorge, was pleasant, attentive, and professional. A group of 13 ex-pats (from Canada and the US, all resident in Panama, all but one Jubilados or Pensionados) lunched here today. I stopped by the day before to let them know that twelve, mostly Jubilados, were coming, and they had the tables set up for us ahead of time. So far, so good. After drink and meal orders had been taken, a waiter came and collected the Panamanian ID cards ("cedulas") in order to make copies of them (Very rarely if ever done in any other Panamanian restaurant). The waiter returned in a while and gave one of the diners all of the cedulas to be redistributed.Apparently, the kitchen is limited in size or scale or staff, as meals were served in groups of four, with Group Two being served about 25 minutes after Group One, and Group Three being served about 25 minutes after Group Two, so that Group One had generally finished eating before Groups Two or Three were served, and Groups One and Two had both finished eating before Group Three was served. Beverage service, however, was good. After all had finished eating, we began the Jubilado Documentation Process. Each diner was presented with a printed copy of his cedula stapled to a printed restaurant form on which he was instructed to print his full name, his cedula number, and his birthdate (all of which information was printed on the copied cedula), and then to sign the completed form. Only when he had done so could he receive his bill and make his payment. This very unusual process extended the bill-payment process to about 5 minutes per diner, so that close to an additional hour was wasted for the last in line.We understood that this was not some charade thought up by Jorge, but rather a special "Jubilado-harrassment" procedure dreamt up by senior management.Clearly this place has way too many customers. I think Jorge and the cook could both do a lot better at different establishment. Dear customer We regret you did not have a pleasant experience in our restaurant and we would like to apologize for any inconvenience you may had. Iâll explain to you the process for the Jubilado discount and why we need to check the proper age for the discount to be given. you are a Jubilado today but in your work days you may have had your own business and controls has to be taken in place because if not this discount that is a very high one as you may know will be given to anyone. and 25% is more than we profit for food food drinks and service rendered. also please understand that 12 separate checks are also difficult to handle in one table without delaying the service I apologize again for the inconvenience you experienced And hope to see you again for the good food and service you aknowledged youâve received.

Do not be put off by first appearances. Some people came in, looked and left. Their loss. The menu is up on a board and George will come out to discuss it. We went with Georgeâs recommendations and I had the lobster and my husband had the pork dish. Both were very good. George even came through from the garden with a handful of freshly picked herbs for the dinner. The French tourists sitting with us said their chicken dinners were very good. The Canadians next to us liked their pizza as did a group of regular ex-pats.There was a convivial atmosphere with a stone fireplace blazingAnd Georgeâs young daughter picked a very nice wine for us.We do recommend it.

We went here for a birthday dinner celebration. We arrived and went to the lovely bar. We waited ages to order drinks as the bar tender was âbusyâ polishing glasses. We ordered when he eventually paid us some attention. We waited. And waited. Another group arrived about 15 minutes after us and placed their drinks order. After about 20 minutes we noticed they started to be served their cocktails. We waited another 10 minutes and they then bought us our drinks. Not good to be relegated in that way. We then went through to the dining room and placed our dinner orders. As there were 8 of us we covered a good cross section of the menu. What arrived was universally overcooked, tepid, tasteless and minuscule sized. All of us were disappointed with the main courses. My pork shoulder was tough, dry, stringy and inedible. The steaks were also awful. The prices are outrageous for such truly dreadful food. We will not be wasting our time and money here again. The whole place is tired, a little tatty and in need of an injection of fresh ideas and a whole new approach in the kitchen.

Besides the great food this restaurant has a serene atmosphere along a river that is very unique to anywhere elsewhere else. I recommend you ask to sit on the patio and order the duo for dessert. It also has a nice wine list. We are thrilled to hear you enjoyed your visit at The Rock Boquete, thank you very much for your comments and we look forward to seeing you again.

There are many good restaurant choices in Boquete but, Colibrà is one that stands out as incredibly special. The atmosphere in the garden patio is relaxing and beautiful, the service is delightful, and every entree is prepared and presented with care. The owners, Daniele and Carolina, are dedicated to creating a special dining experience for each guest. Check their schedule for special events such as wine tastings, which are excellent. On Sundays you can enjoy acoustic music on the patio during brunch. Consider yourself very fortunate if you're there on a Sunday when singer-songwriter, Adhi Velásquez, is performing.
