Find out what International restaurants to try in Asuncion. The "Mother of Cities" was founded in 1537, and declared independence from Spain in 1811. The charming historic section can be explored on foot. The friendly Paraguayan capital, gateway to the grassy Gran Chaco region, has long been a center of music, poetry and the arts, but only in recent years has Asunción been able to escape its long history of dictatorship rule. Sites to visit include Panteon Nacional de los Heroes, Casa de la Independencia and Catedral de Nuestra Senora de Asuncion.

While Alma had a cozy atmosphere with great service, the parilla was disappointing. We went there twice because of the excellent wine selection but my BBQ beef was chewy.

La Vienesa has locations all over town and they all have good quality food and pastries that are ready in a hurry and are very tasty. I used them as a go-to lunch location when in a hurry or not looking for something formal. The food is always good and the empanadas are great!

We did not know how the restaurant worked and at around waiting for the wait staff for 10 minutes. Turns out you have to take a number and then tell the staff what you want from a buffet and the food is weighed and priced accordingly. This means there was poor value, the food was fairly cold and not that good.

very traditional restaurant, serving an international menu. we felt it was quite expensive for what it was, but the food was cooked well and well seasoned. Middle to upper class Paraguayans tend to come here... has parking inside gate

This restaurant offers the "churrasquiera" experience from Brazil. You have the option to pay by weight or "all-you-can-eat" for one flat price. If you choose the weight option (good for light eaters), just stop by the scale each time you load up and an employee will weigh your food and write the cost on your bill. There is a wide selection of hot and cold foods in a self-serve buffet style and one section with barbecued meat that is served to you by the cook. If you know what you want, just point or ask. If you don't know, then just ask for a selection. The main reason I rated this restaurant a 4/5 is because the meats were all well-done and some were very tough. I think if a restaurants focus is on barbecued meat, they should be good at cooking it to perfection rather than letting it sit and dry out over the flames for too long.Drink service is provided by a waiter. When I was there, the waiter was attentive and offered water, drinks, and coffee/tea later. Each table also had a "call service" button that would summon the waiter if you needed anything. Once you settle up your final bill with the waiter, you receive a pass to exit the restaurant which you pass to the attendant at the exit door.If you are staying in the old downtown area, Rodizio is very well located on Palma right beside the Burger King. It is worth a visit if you are close, but I wouldn't travel across the city to get to it.

Came here as well as their town centre branch and absolutely loved both visits. The service is friendly and attentive, and the food is delicious. In our last visit we had a cake with a ball of ice cream (18,000 Gs) and a mixed juice of maracuya and orange (13,000 Gs). This chain is highly recommended!

Welcome to San Pietro the Retaurante International food, gastronomy asuncena icon .
Our first trip to Paraguay would not be complete without visiting this restaurant. From the reservation, to the reception, to dinner and coffee everything was just wonderful. Chef Fernando is very creative, he truely uses local ingredients to create global dishes. Please sample as many of his sauces as you can since they are just excellent! The waiting staff is very attentive and pleasant.Looking forward to visiting them again on our next visit to Paraguay!

Bolsi is a third generation family-owned restaurant which opened in 1960.
Walked in shortly after opening and the place was quite packed already. Ordered variety of local pastry and fresh juice just to taste it all, and it was absolutely worth it ... forget your sterile hotel breakfast. Come downtown, sit down and enjoy, absorb the vibe of the place, smell of food & spice from the kitchen, local people chit-chatting... itâs a very genuine experience!

After three month we have been dining again at Tierra Colorada. Both our dishes were overwhelming. One of them being "lamb 16 hours cooked softly" Rodolfo Angenscheidt is to be congratulated.Service as good as ever.By 10:30 pm the place was packed and a large queue outside.
