My wife and I, visited the Symposium Cafe/Restaurant on Rymal Rd., Hamilton, this morning. We have enjoyed excellent dinners here previously, but this morning was our first breakfast visit. We were greeted nicely by a young waitress upon our arrival. We perused the breakfast menu while we were served hot coffee. We ordered the eggs Florentine and we were very impressed. This establishment is antiseptically clean and the decor is very welcoming. A good bunch of breakfast customers attributed to the popularity of this restaurant on Rymal Rd. We will return for certain !!

Some dishes are great and others not so much. The Bruschetta appetizer was not what we expected as instead of tomato and garlic covered bread, it was avocado topped with piles of lentils. Tastey but the lentils fell all over the place when you bit into the bread. A bit messy to eat. The Bouillabaisse was excellent- expensive at $33 - but worth it with lots of seafood in the tomato based sauce with 3 slices of French stick bread. However, the Salmon dish was not so great. A small piece of fish that was very oily and cooked rare. Most of the plate was covered with quartered roasted red beets and that was it! No starch like rice or potato and no green vegetable. I counted at least 20 beet pieces on the plate. When I asked the waitress Allison, she said I guess the chef wants you to eat healthy. There were a few candied walnuts among the beets but I couldnât eat many of the crunchy beets. When the plate was taken away, there was no question as to why most of the beets were left uneaten. At $26.00 it was a poor dish. I asked for decaf coffee but as I could not get to sleep unto 2:00 in the morning, I am not sure it was really decaf.Wine is super expensive by the glass. $16.50 for an 8 Ounce glass of Pino Grigio. Yikes!

My wife has been here several time for business lunches and couldnât speak highly enough about it. We finally made it for our anniversary and BN didnât disappoint. We shared 5 dishes between us. 9yr old ordered the shrimp tempura (he orders a 2nd plate as well) and the fresh pasta. The tempura was wonderfully light. The fresh pasta would make a delicious dinner on its own. Truffle butter was a perfect compliment to the fresh pasta. My wife ordered the teriyaki eggplant. The eggplant is brined for 24hrs, battered and deep fried. Never been an eggplant fan but this is a dish I will order again. The thin sliced chiliâs added a perfect amount of heat and the peanuts a lovely crunch. Found the teriyaki sauce to be a bit heavy-handed but as a shared dish it was manageable. May be a bit much as a single dish. I ordered the ribeye. Ordered it med-rare but it came out between blue and rare. The ribeye was such a beautiful cut that it was like eating tartar. Well season and was quite enjoyable although rarer than preferred. Absolutely wonderful dinner and ambience. Staff were wonderful. Will definitely be returning and would highly recommend.

radius Hamilton offers handcrafted cocktails and chef prepared dishes served in beautiful spaces that date back to Hamilton circa 1874, with original 16 foot tin ceilings.
Beautiful place. Amazing food. Lots of food. Clean. Fantastic staff. We went on a Monday so it was fairly quiet but the staff were fantastically attentive. The food tasted amazing. Highly recommend the melon and prosciutto and the Huli Huli Chicken. Although the price is a little higher, the taste of food and amount of food is 0 worth it. Will definitely return.
