Hemos estado a comer en domingo 4 personas 2adultos y 2 niños.de entrantes pedimos nachos (extraordinarios), mini hamburguesas y ensalada. De segundo hamburguesas , para mà opinión muy buena calidad y te la ponen al gusto de como la pides , que otros sitios la pides poco hecha y les da igual. De postre pedimos gofres (muy buenos) y la tarta de queso y el coulang de chocolate o explosión como le llaman en la carta espectacular y caseros. Todo regado de cerveza Cibeles rubia (5⬠la pinta) y un trato encantador. Si volvemos por Alcalá , ya tenemos sitio para ir!

This restaurant is a little off the beaten track - opposite a 50's dinner, near the covered market.We shared a number of starters/tapas.All excellent.Would recommend the scallops. A taco type dish which comes with its own pipette of chilli sauce. Up to you how spicy it is. And prawn crackers filled with prawns and other yummy stuff (see picture).This is a great little place, interesting interior design and it's different if you need a break from traditional Spanish food.Great friendly service, would go back.Bill, for 2, including 3 beers, ex tip about â¬50.00. memory is a little hazy, sorry.And you get a bowl of free Haribo when you have finished the mains!Thankyu for the comment Matt. We love that you liked our restaurant service. We wait for you again :)

In this sort of restaurant you take food quality as a given, not as an extra. And food was indeed great. Why an average review, then? Well, one expects more from the service.There were three of us, and this was a special occasion. My parents ate the weekend menu, while I went for the general menu. Their starters, salad and mushroom, were great both in taste, presentation, and amount. My big shrimps were great as well. Problem was that by the time they brought my starter my parents were more than halfway through finishing theirs. It just took them too much time.Things didn't get better with the main courses. Again, their osobucco and my beef sirloin were superb. But we had to wait for more than 30 minutes since we had finished our apetitzers until we had our meat served on the table. Poor organisation, perhaps?The deserts were delightful as well. This time, no undue delay was experienced. It would have been the last straw, though.The atmosphere is good and bad at the same time. The décor is really appropriate and I feel the number of tables in the room is just appropriate so that, if the other customers aren't loud, you'll enjoy your company and not others'. However, it was not the case, and the waiters did nothing to compel the table at the other end of the restaurant to use a softer tone!I'm rating the service poorly because this lack of diligence and the delay with our food. I must stress, though, that they were very kind and paid due attention to our petitions. Maybe I just expected too much... maybe they didn't have their finest hour.All in all, we paid â¬90 for great food, but I feel we could have enjoyed it better! Maybe I'll give them another chance, maybe not. I have the gut feeling that they know how to do better.

Llevaba meses siguiendo este restaurante en FB y viendo fotos de platos maravillosos, pensando cuando podrÃa ir pues vivo lejÃsimos. Pues bien, me surge la ocasión de pasar una noche en Alcalá de Henares y, emocionada, voy a la web para reservar mesa en mi única cena allÃ. Veo que solo se puede reservar por Whatsapp, escribo pidiendo una mesa para las 20.30 pues nos gusta cenar pronto. Al instante rectifico porque veo en la web que los viernes abren a las 21.00. Vale, merecerá la pena. Me cogen la reserva sin decir ni pio.Allá que me voy, y cuando llego resulta que en la pizarra de la entrada ponÃa que los viernes abren a las 20.30. Bueno, podÃan haberlo adevertido pero es media hora, entramos, y entonces nos sueltan una hoja con un menú especial por la semana cervantina de Alcalá de Henares sin prácticamente ninguno de los platos que nos habÃan ilusionado en la carta de la web. Para que os hagais una idea, los principales eran hamburguesa, perrito caliente y pizza. Eso, señores mios, se advierte, cuando haces la reserva o al menos antes de sentarte a la mesa. Respecto a la comida, los nachos estaban bien, las patatas fritas son caseras pero las salsas son muy malas, hasta el punto de que estan mejor a pelo, y la tabla de hummus solo en el de aceitunas se notaban las aceitunas porque los otros no sabÃan a nada en especial, asi que eran tres tronchos de hummus acompañados de unos panes de miga calentitos (absolutamente inadecuados para tomar hummus) a los que el aceite de oliva y el sésamo habia "mirado". Sin postres, sin zumos. Lo único bueno, el servicio. Fuera de que la camarera tendrÃa que advertir a la gente que ese dia hay menu especial, fué impecable y se esforzó porque nos sintiéramos a gusto viendo nuestra obvia decepción.Meses esperando poder ir para eso...

Fuimos recomendados por el Hostel Complutum y no defraudó. Excelente servicio y buen menú por 13â¬. El local es muy acogedor, aunque nosotros almorzamos en la terraza porque estaba lleno, pero comimos igual de bien. Está alejado de lo que es el centro de todos los bares conocidos,pero andando se llega en 8 minutos.

My wife and I stumbled across this restaurant while having a stroll around the lovely old town of Alcala de Henares. We were staying at the excellent Parador just 5 minutes away and having checked out and before our flight home thought we would go for lunch somewhere and we ended up at Martilota. Our Spanish is I am ashamed to say is non existent but we understood they were fully booked in the restaurant but we could eat at the tables in the bar. The food was the best that we had had all weekend. My sardines on tomato and toast were lovely and my wife had the Korean style noodles. Followed by a what I believe was a flan or skirt steak perfectly cooked and Hake with clams and a green sauce. The Rioja reserva that we had was a perfect accompaniment. Service was very good. I understood that it had only been open a few weeks and judging by how full it was i think the town has been waiting for a restaurant like this. If you are staying at the Parador definitely check this place out. Highly recommend a visit.

It is difficult to find high quality vegetarian food that is also tasty when traveling. Hemisferio Loft was suggested by a friend and the restaurant did not disappoint us at all. The location is near the plaza en Alcala de Henares hidden away in a quaint alleyway. It is worth looking for!We ordered mushrooms in sauce for our appetizer and it was a delicious treat, savory and with just the right spices. My husband and I decided to try two different items for our second course. He ordered a rice dish with vegetables and I ordered a chef-recommended vegetable concoction that was served in a mason jar. It was by far one of the best vegetarian dishes I've ever eaten in a restaurant anywhere. The vegetables were cooked to perfection and seasoned well. The rice my husband ordered was also excellent.If you want to top off the incredible dining experience you must order the Tiramisu. The chef at Hemisferio makes an awesome dessert you will not want to miss. For the non-vegetarians: I noticed others were ordering large steaks similar to T-Bones called Chuletones. The other diners seemed as pleased with their selections as well. The service was just right for us, the maitre did not hover over us but was available for anything we needed. Overall a great place to eat.
