Most probably one of the best all around coffee shops in Nea Filadelfeia. Nice and cozy decoration with warm atmosphere and different long and short tables for all kind of different number of groups visiting. Staff is helpful and attentive all the time, without disturbing. Pastries, breakfast, brunch and main courses with salad are superb. However, it will be rather miraculous if a non smoker can stand the atmosphere for more than an hour! Although air freshers and air conditioning exists, it seems that it never works to fresh the air and take the smoke away. Prices are normal to a bit high. I left much earlier than expected due to smoke and I hardly believe that I can visit it again as it seems that there is low to none respect for no smoking customers. Wifi should be redesigned as access is rather poor. So disappointing....

The Beer - Restaurant "Methexi" serves from 1997 a great variety of beer etiquettes along with Greek and Mediterranean dishes. During the summer period the restaurant becomes a patio and is suitable for every hour of the day.
Unlike many other bars/restaurants in Greece, these guys reduced largely their prices some years ago, while keeping a high quality! The place is simply decorated, mostly by wood, and gives warm feelings. I mostly visit to eat and have a beer or two, but I think it also serves coffee. Their cuisine is much like what you could be served in an American bar; burgers, tortillas, but also salads, pasta and steaks. The only con, I'd say, is that their list of beers is being lessened year by year. Still good enough for a local "pub".

Casa Del Toro, The Best Steakouse In Athens Can Travel Your Mind And Senses.
We visited this restaurant to celebrate a special occasion, and it didn't disappoint. We got the osso busso, which was cooked in the oven for hours, and had all its juices, really tasty, no sauce needed. The feta "spring" roll started was also tasty, as was the potato puree. The waiter even suggested the Malbec to pair our main course with, instead of the Pinot Noir we were thinking, a nice touch that we appreciated. Our only gripe has to do with the way things are presented to the customers to make them seem offered, but instead they are being charged. For instance, after ordering, we were asked if we would like some bread, and that was charged per person in the bill. After eating, we were asked: "would you like us to offer you a mille-feuille?", to which we agreed, but then were charged for it. I would prefer to take another look at the menu, and be asked in a more honest manner about the dessert choices; the way we perceived it was that dessert would be complimentary (as is the case in many restaurants in Greece, especially when they ask if you would like to be offered dessert in the end). The mille-feuille had ice-cream inside, instead of fresh cream, so I was not impressed anyway. We got complimentary digestives, which was a welcome gesture. The atmosphere was lovely, the waiters were really helpful in choosing the wine and serving the food, and the classical music in the background was amazing. I would return to try the steaks, and be more aware of choosing the bread-dessert options.
