Things to do in Tasikmalaya
this restaurant is quite hard to reach, you need to take your own vehicle to arrive, it's about 10 kilometers away from Tasikmalaya city center. the road to go there was quite bumpy the last time I came there, but it's all paid by the great menu they served. they have specialty of shrimps, you can have them cooked in any style, soup, roast, fried, etc...they also have other kind of fish such as Nila ( Nile Tilapia), they also have some kinds of condiment. this place is surrounded by rice field which I think give a good point to the restaurant. make sure to call first before you come just in case they close...
2nd time visiting Tasik got chance to eat this restaurant, dishes taste exellent especially the Gurame fish sweet and sour, cooked more like a curry fish soup full of spices ingredients this obe is the best in this resto. And also tried the fried chicken liver cooked with lime leave, ginger, tomato and others spices , delicious. The omelette also good with salted fish insideYou can enjoy seating in the "bale" with mountain view. Weather is ok not to hot and not coll. Fells like eating in the village. Must cone and try

This was a West Java traditional restaurant. It offered not only traditional foods but also traditional ambiance. We sat on the wooden floor in the hut. The service was quick and courteous, but the foods were in general a bit salty. Since our hut was an open hut, there were flies flying around that made our lunch uncomfortable. We cannot recommend this restaurant as you have other options.

Tasikmalaya have lots of sundanese seafood restaurant with saung concept. This place is one of my favorite so far. It consistently serves great food with cheap price. Oh and you can call first to order, so you don't have to wait too long for your food to be served on the table.

Kupat Tahu means food made from kupat (solid rice covered by coconut leaf) and tahu (bean cake) with spicy peanut sauce. Located at Jalan Raya Garut - Tasikmalaya, about 20 km from Tasikmalaya municipal, the place just like common traditional food seller in West Java but it offers many flavor you'll never forget.

This is a classical food outlet in Tasikmalaya. They sell rice and many variety of ready made sundanese cuisine. You take the rice, and take anything you want, and pay later at the cashier at the end of the serving table. Taste was delicious, price is cheap. Definitely a must visit
