My friends suggested this restaurant and I was delighted to try an Indian restaurant in Wuppertal. The general appearance of the restaurant was pleasant and it was nicely located in the centre of Wuppertal. However, I was soon very disappointed, I ordered vegetable pakoras and Lamb curry with Nan and rice. The food was unspiced, Indian food does not necessarily require a high degree of pungency but spices are essential. Apparently there were several diners who did not mind the blatant omission of spices.

My favourite place to eat on a daily or special occasion. Peaceful surroundings and a quaint relaxing, homely interior with open fire etc Amazing quiche and side salad, great American breakfast and I recently had a pecan pie to die for!!!! The recent thanksgiving meal was one of my best ever.

Finally a great indian restaurant in Wuppertal! We have been craving decent indian food since we moved from England 7 years ago. A pity it is a bit out of the way, because if it had been in the city centre we would be there every Friday after the pub! We went for the first time in January, then again last weekend with my sister-in-law and boyfried, then my husband returned there yesterday with an indian colleague, and he also thought the food was great. In both my visits I had the poppadums with the classical trio of sauces, and some veggie pakoras as starters. These are fried in chickpeas batter and are absolutely delicious. Afterwards I had vegetarian main dishes, with paneer and vegetables (Panir Pasenda and Panir Chili), both amazing, fantastic flavours (I'll comment later on the spicyness). I also tried my husband's Malai koftas and his lamb tandoori, which in my opinion didn't need at all the side-sauce, was just delicious like that. I haven't tried any dish that wasn't excellent, and for the people we were with, not used to indian food, it was a great new experience. So, the spicyness: I think if you go in looking German, they will be very careful not to make it too spicy: the first time I said I like it 'nice and spicy', and they recommended a 'medium', which was in fact very mild. This time around I said 'hot', and you could definitely feel more heat, although very 'bearable'. I didn't need more to be honest, because the flavours delivered all you needed, and it was a hot day... on a funny note, my sister-in-law who asked for 'medium', had the spiciest dish of all (a Palak Panir)... so it's a bit difficult to get it right, however I think even if you stay 'mild', you won't be disappointed. Just adjust at your next visit, hopefully there will be another one. Only slight negative: this place was previously an Italian restaurant, and some of the old deco is still lingering around...
