We have chosen to present some of the more characteristic, yet legendary dishes from North India, especially the Punjab. Our preparation makes our food beautiful to behold and addictive to the palate.
We visited this Indian last year & rated it somewhat higher than this year! Either the chef or owners must have changed as this year it was at best 'average' with a very standard Indian menu, obviously pre-cooked sauces, small portions, poor service & above average prices. Shame, I doubt we will go again next year.

Authentic Indian Food. There is another branch at 159 Victoria Street, Christchurch, New Zealand
We ate her on our stay in Timaru after reading some good TA reviews. When we arrived only 2 other tables were filled and these customers soon left.We were then the only customers in the restaurant. Despite this we had to wait 45 minutes for any food to appear. My chicken dopiaza was tasteless with no heat and overcooked tough chicken. My wifes chicken jalfrezi almost defies description. On the menu it was described as a thick sauce(which it should be). What was presented was a pale yellow orange soup like liquid in which bits of chicken floated. it had no taste whatsoever and was not eaten. A garlic naan had a luminous yellow paste all over it. Staff seemed unconcerned about left food so we payed and got out(at least it was cheap). One star is overstating the place but can't give zero.

When I lived in Timaru, my family and I would always choose this Indian place to eat from. It is more commonly known for it's takeaway but would imagine the dining experience would be fairly similar! The food comes in great portions with an authentic tasting Indian style which I'm sure is what makes this small restaurant so appealing. It's consistent and is right on the main road! The staff are polite and I would personally choose this place over any other Indian restaurants in Timaru purely because of the food and value.
