Karma

It was a simple order, mild chicken curry and Paratha bread to go. Got home and literally got burned because the mild chicken curry was atomic hot! Now lets talk about their bread. Paratha is always a buttery, flaky bread that I have never seen messed up in many ages of ordering it, but their version was a disaster. It was bone dry, flavorless, and fell apart in strips while just pulling it out of the bag.It ruined our evening, we're not coming back.

We were shopping in the Janss Mall and stopped to eat here. The food was tasty if not overly mild. The buffet (its usually table service in the evenings) was small but full of classics. Tandori chicken, Chicken Korma, some veggies and one or two other meat dishes. There was also a desert cart. Overall a satisfying Indian meal. Met the expectation of a local indian restaurant.

Akash Cuisine of India

I had a very disappointing experience at Akash recently. The menu looked amazing and we ordered several dishes. However, nothing had any real flavor to speak of. We ordered a tandoori sampler dish and the meat was salty and otherwise devoid of flavor. I just don't know how that is possible. The chicken tikka masala barely had any flavor. And most disappointing, when we ordered a side of basmati rice, our server asked us if we would like to try mushroom rice. When we asked what it was, he said it was just rice flavored with mushrooms. I'm no novice to Indian food, but this sounded like something I hadn't tried yet, so we went for it. Turned out to be vegetarian biryani (with mushrooms) and of course we were charged accordingly. I'm not being cheap, but I'm talking about the difference between $2.99 and $10.99, but we were not informed. And it wasn't even good. In short, if you like Indian food but don't want it too highly seasoned of flavored, this is your place. Otherwise, you could do a lot better. I know there are many 5 star reviews, but it really seems to me that their food is tailored to people with little exposure to Indian food.

High mountain food from Nepal and India. Our friends had enjoyed the restaurant many times and encouraged us to join them at lunch. First, the luncheon menu, $8.95, is very affordable and a real meal deal. The lamb curry is excellent, I requested it hot, and it was tasty and not overbearing. The tikka chicken and chicken with ginger, I don’t recall it’s name was also very good. Lunch is served with soup and a side dish, in this time it was a melange of chickpeas and spices. Both were excellent. The naan, a side order, not included with lunch was also very good.
