I have read a couple of more critical reviews describing this venue as a âshedâ which I find miss the point somewhat. Yes, it is basic inside but this doesnât detract from the fact that the people running it are lovely, friendly and genuine. The location is a little off the beaten track but refreshingly far enough away from the thrum of the street and the frequent efforts by shop owner to entice you to buy things. The food that we had we great- I had Gobi Manchurian, garlic naan and vegetable pakoda and it was delicious. My partner had a pizza because he needed a break from Indian food and that was great too.

Nice romantic setting on the rooftop. The service is very friendly. The cuisine is pretty average and reasonably priced for this type of tourist restaurant. Overall a nice experience.

A great place for authentic Kerala cuisine. We visited this everyday for lunch and dinner during our stay at Thekkady. The menu has good variety and the rates are pocket friendly. I specially liked the Kerela thalis with lots of tasty and fresh items. The waiters are enthusiastic and helpful and suggested the ones that we should definitely try. The premises are clean and the washrooms well maintained. If you are visiting Thekkady, this is a place you shouldnât miss.

The Bamboo Cafe is a favorite restaurant of tourists and local people, the food is really good and so is the service. I like their Tandoori dishes, Roti, butter chicken and Kebab and noodles is also a good choice. The outlet is recommended for both Non-vegetarian and Vegetarian food and the rates are also affordable. One of the restaurants in Thekkady which we can recommend without hesitation because they won't disappoint you regarding the quality and taste of the food and the service offered to the guests.

Our hotel had recommended this restaurant to us - which was great because I had the best Chicken 65 here! We were served by a lovely lady who runs this place along with her family. The kitchen is open (though behind glass windows), and you can see the matron of the place cooking for you. They also serve cold beer to go along with your food. So if you want some great starters and beer, served by some really lovely people, do visit Spice Garden.

We ended up having dinner at Grandma's Cafe twice during our stay in Thekkady. The ambience is great, the team is super helpful, the food is delicious (try anything off the menu - it will be amazing) and there's cold beer to go with the food. However, owing to the popularity of this place, you'll need to either make a reservation (and reach on time) or reach early for a seat. You may need to wait for a table as well - so please do keep all of these in mind while going for a meal to Grandma's Cafe.Recommended.

A Keralan cookery class in a local home - great fun, great food and lots of inspiring recipes to try once we are back home. The ebullient Sheril had us chopping, grating and frying all kinds of delicious dishes, as well as kneading and stretching dough to make Keralan Parathas.
