The embodiment of food in the spirit of the nation is an integral part of its identity. Our Dhaba is the embodiment of Punjabi food and Punjab - a state that has been the envy of the nation (India). In India and Pakistan, highways are dotted with local re
This is, hands down, one of THE BEST dining experiences we have EVER had. From the professionally warm greeting to the service to the food, this lovely restaurant cannot be beat.Everything we had stood on its own exceptionalness! We started with smooth and tasty mango-type light smoothie that was so good, we ordered another. We also ordered a tea Which was the perfect balance of delicate and sweet. For beginners, we had a fried vegetable platter of sorts - each tasty morsel held its own and the chick-pea dipping sauce was amazing.I had the Lamb and my husband the goat - OH MY GOSH-the best of both with the goat being a rare treat as we rarely if never see it on menus. These are both must-haves.No Indian meal would be complete w/o Naan and let me tell you, the Garlic Naan we ordered was OUT OF THIS WORLD ...delicious, light, crispy, & salty with just the right balance of what makes Naan Naan.Do yourself a âflavorâ and just eat here.We will return again & again while in Phoenix area.Thank you so much for this beautiful epicurean experience Dhaba people!

I was in Tempe for business and wanted to try this restaurant after seeing a link on the hotel website. An easy walk from the Moxy to a wonderful family owned restaurant. The owners are Pakistani and the food reflects the diverse and wonderful flavors from that area of the world. The food was delicious. Donât miss the cheese naan bread. I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant. Enjoy!

I had such a dosa craving I went to a Chandler joint one night and Udupi the next. While the one in Chandler (Woodlands) feels authentic, almost like being in Mumbai, Udupi is decidedly upscale without being fancy. No white tablecloths here, but beautifully prepared South Indian food. Having spent plenty of time in Mumbai, and in Singapore and Dubai where there's lots of authentic Indian food, I can say with authority that Udupi does it well. I can never avoid ordering a giant paper dosa, but at least I've learned to share it. I LOVE the coconut chutney that goes with it. The dosa was super crisp and not the least greasy (as they can be). Sadly, they didn't have bhel poori, but papri chaat was similar and an excellent substitute which all four of us devoured. Like Woodlands, Udupi stopped offering pani poori because the crisp little pooris arrive from India broken, but the dish is still on their website menu so I was greatly disappointed. One of us wanted to try the Gobi Manchurian appetizer, which I'd never had before anywhere. Becauseâ¦Â it's not my thing. Cauliflower florets are breaded, fried, and sauced in a spicy sweet-sour sauce. Delicious! We all enjoyed them. But still⦠not my thing. And the dish the manager suggested, Mixed Vegetable Manchurian⦠no. Not bad, but so many other items on the menu I wouldn't order it again. One of us ordered a butter masala dosa, something I've long wanted to try but couldn't, because I can't NOT order the paper dosa. It was delicious, with a definite buttery taste, partly crisp, with spiced potatoes inside. There are so many intriguing dosas to try, I watch them sail by to other tables and drool⦠but it's paper dosa for me every time. We also ordered aloo gobi, the classic potato and cauliflower combination, but we were all too stuffed to enjoy it. It was delicious at home though! Two of us also filled up on mango lassi, which are beautifully presented at Udupi. And then, my favorite dessert, ras malai. One order for the four of us, just to taste. Also, this was an introduction to South Indian cuisine for one of our party, hence the over-ordering. Sadly, this was not a nice rendition of ras malai, which is usually a soft milk ball in a puddle of sweet, thickened cardamomy milk. I don't know what the ball was, an idly? Something spongy, maybe a sponge, but it wasn't a milk ball. Perhaps they were out of milk balls and thought I wouldn't know better. Or maybe this is simply a different version of ras malai (I'm being generous here). So, my last taste was one of disappointment. On the whole though, the dinner was stellar.
