Ordered Aloo chat and this is what we got. More like a bombay aloo. At least have the courtesy to Google what Aloo chat is and mock it up if you don't know. All curry's were full of oil in the same kind of curry sauce. Totally disappointed and certainly never going. This is NOT Indian food.

Indian/ Bangladeshi restaurant and take away Think of india and one of the first things that comes to mind is itâs diversity. The language are numerous and every state is unique in its traditions and ...food! However, the common thread that runs through a
Iâve organised many team meals but never once has everyone said how much they enjoyed it. The service was impeccable, friendly and attentive. The food (5 course set menu) was delicious with a great variety enabling people to try things they wouldnât normally. The fact the place was rammed on a Wednesday says everything to me. If youâre in Swindon definitely pay them a visit, you wonât regret it.

I have eaten here before and thoroughly enjoyed the food. I visited today with my husband and a friend and again we all enjoyed our food. I had a lamb curry and the lamb was soft and my mushrooms rice full of onions and corriander too which added the the overall taste. My husband and our friend both had fish based curry from the house special section snd again they were lovely and the fush well cooked. We had an aubergine and potato side dish which was tasty but only had one peice of aubergine in. The reason for the low rating if the slightly pushy and uncomfortable sales technique. We were asked at least 4 times if we wanted poppadoms (the answer each time was no and a good thing judging by some if the reviews) yet they were still written and then crossed out from the bill. We also had to ask on 5 occasions to get some tap water, a bottle of water is put on ths table but this is chargeable and when we were already paying £5 per pint we didn't want to pay for water too. While out order was being taken again the waiter used every opportunity to ask if we wantws to add extra. We ordered a side dish obviously for the table but then everyone was asked if they wanted more side dishes and again ws ordered chapati (and each person ordered rice) but were still all asked ifbwe wanted naan. Based on the food alone I would go back but with the service ww will be trying somewhere else next time as it took away some of our enjoyment

The food was ok. Starters were the highlight, served in a modern style and tasted very good. The main course was more standard indian cuisine. My wifeâs chicken was a touch dry and mine had a strange coating but tasted ok.My main issue was that after finishing, the plates were not collected for a good 30 minutes. Itâs not very nice trying to relax after a big meal with uneaten food on the table.I noticed a couple who were on a table for 4 were forced to move to a smaller table, despite being served starters and drinks. Completely unacceptable. And another couple had to stand next to our table whilst we paid our bill so they could then use it. Not sure we will return to a restaurant that values cramming in customers to providing a welcoming experience.

South Indian food is in its own class. ChennaiDosa made an attempt to recreate the magic of South Indian cuisine in London and has been immensely successful since the opening of its first branch in Manor Park, London. In 2003, Chennaidosa opened its first
Went for an evening meal and after being shown to a table, we were ignored for ages. Asked a waitress if we could order drinks who carried on cleaning other tables when she had clearly heard us. She returned eventually to take the drinks order and threw the menus at the table and just stared at us.We walked out as she muttered under her breath - disgusting service - and my wife pointed out, that we were the only white people in there at that time, so not sure if that was the reason for the way we were treated.

This is a high-end contemporary Indian restaurant, newly opened so I think their url isn't working yet. Their phone number is 01793 791888.
As an Indian I have always struggled to find "Authentic" Indian flavours in restaurants especially outside London and LeicesterBurj has completed that gap for us especially in this part of UK.Khatta Baingan was a delight that I will not forget and will come again for thatNaans are fresh and the way you find them back home in India, unlike the ones that you find in curry housesThe staff is pleasant, knowledgeable and always ready to helpMost recommended if you want to enjoy real taste of India without going to IndiaAshutosh

We dropped in on a Saturday night without a reservation, and were pleasantly surprised that they had some free tables and could offer us one! However, there was only one waitress, who seemed to be trying to do front of house/'meet and greet', plus serving drinks AND taking food orders. We ordered a bottle of white wine, starters and main courses, but after 20 minutes our bottle of wine still hadn't arrived - it takes mere seconds to grab a bottle from the fridge and place it on a table. If drinks are delivered, customers are usually happy to wait for the food - even if it's slow to arrive. Plus giving the customers their drink "locks" them in - they are committed to staying at that point. The group of four people on the table next to us had been waiting for absolutely ages and still hadn't managed to even order a drink. This did not bode well! We've had very slow service in New Delhi before, but this was a ridiculous amount of time without even a drink. They definitely need to address their staffing levels during busier periods. After 20 minutes, we decided to cut our losses, cancelled our order with an apology, and left.

My wife and I decided to give this restaurant a try having moved into the area recently. The previous reviews on TripAdvisor and the high ranking indicated we were in for a real treat, and our new local indian restaurant. The decor is lovely, but other than that it was all rather average really. Our starters were okay (mixed tandoori and a chicken tikka), but not as nice as most. Our main course were a bit of a mixed experience, my curry was very good indeed, but my wifeâs shashlick just consisted of a large chicken tikka starter, no sizzling plate or skillet, just bland with some fried onions. The service was very slow, no smiles, no asking if the meal was okay, just the bare minimum.Sadly I donât think weâll return, just not quite good enough really. Not cheap either.

Welcome to Ruchi Indian Restaurant & Takeaway. Located in Swindon, Old town. Established since 1990. We offer great service to our customers. Delivery service available, Tuesday and Sunday evening specials for dining in and we also cater for large parties
Went here for a surprise 40th birthday meal, there were 18 of us in total and the owner provided the room upstairs for us, so we could decorate the table and provide a surprise when the birthday girl arrived, as they had no idea all the family would be present. What absolutely fabulous service we received throughout the evening and the food was as superb as ever. The owner/manager regularly popped up to check we were OK and had everything we needed and asked if we were all enjoying ourselves which was lovely. Can't recommend this place enough and as others say on other reviews we have never ever had a bad meal at Ruchi. Keep it up and I would just like to add a massive thank you for making our evening and celebrations so special and memorable. Oh and finally, thank you to all the waiters for taking the many pictures on the night and for waiting on us all so well.

The Jewel In The Crown is a family-run business celebrating its 30 Year Anniversary. Our Award Winning Chefs create fresh to order exquisite Indian Cuisine
We were here as 2 couples, a friendly greeting on arrival and a nice big round table for the 4 of us, so plenty of space. It doesn't feel cramped up here, so that was nice. The decor is neutral and we loved all the gorgeous chandeliers! The service was excellent, staff were all really friendly and helpful and ordering was very easy. Lots of menu choice, 3 of the 4 of us went for the special - lamb & pumpkin curry, this was absolutely delicious and can really recommend this dish which we had with rice and a couple of side dishes that were recommended by our waiter. The toilet facilities are near the services entrance, so that's a bit odd, only one female loo which was snug - but you're not here for that....You're not rushed either, plenty of staff around - no waiting for service, and they constantly check everything is ok with you but not ott. We all enjoyed our evening and we will be returning here and looking forward to the next visit already! Wonder what the next special might be Go try the lamb & pumpkin curry.... which is also available with an alternative to the lamb.... mmmm amazing!
