Things to do in Solapur
The south indina dishes are very good. I have had dosa and idly on two separate occasion and I just loved it (may be due to delicious chutney and sambhar)
Pure veg family restaurant with Maharashtrian, south-Indian & Punjabi breakfast and lunch. Open from 6am to 11.30pm
Lokseva is a good place to eat in Mohol. It is clean. They also have accommodation. It is one of the only available accommodation options in Mohol. Rooms are also clean and an ac room is available for INR 1000. Now, they have expanded and they also serve non - veg food. They are open for breakfast to dinner.
solapurs first and the best hotel for Maharashtrain meal home made food most loved restaurant by celebrities.
Great Place to have Dining experience.. Absolutely Home Cooked Food, Great Taste and Quality, Exceptional Maharashtrian Cuisine, Super Courteous Staff and Owner Group. The place to go for authentic vegetarian home cooked food in SOLAPUR. Very centrally located, though difficult to notice. Pocket Friendly not Cheap, always freshly cooked every thing, if not cooked fresh - will not be available for service. Starting Breakfast to Lunch and Dinner. A must visit and yes be prepared for a wait on weekends or evenings coz it is loved even more by the local people and they bringing guests. Not upscale and definitely not very commercial in nature.. That makes them humble and grounded for keeping it just like home. Have loved being there for lunches on several occasions.. Highly Recommended...
Had stayed in the Hotel Tripursundari on a business trip. The hotel has this restaurant. Ordered one veg biryani, and it was too good. The content was sufficient for two people. The complementary breakfast is also served in this restaurant, and it is average at best with limited options.
This place dishes out the most kickass butter chicken in Solapur, best part of the place is it gives you choice of portion sizes as per your appetite. Biryanis are decent, place is buzzing with male population, they do have a separate AC sitting for family. I went their with friends had a lovely time, they Do not accept cards which is a let down but has an atm right next to it so did not cause much hassle. Service is quick, ambience is okeyishh , this place is loud and not because of the music., Easy on pockets !!
We had requested our rental car driver to stop at a place for lunch in Solapur on our way to Akkalkot. Although it was an hour before we could stop, we were pleasantly surprised with his pick of Valsang wada for lunch as it is almost an hour away from Solapur. This place is off of state highway (pretty poor road conditions!), has an ambience of village setting and open concept. Food is prepared after you have placed an order and so it does take some time. The service is excellent. We ordered chapattis, moong pend pala, methi lasun and dahi. All the food was very tatsy and the spice levels are a bit on high (here comes Dahi!). They also use credit card for payments. In all, it is a good place for lunch stopover. My only gripe was a certain odor was present in the area which probably was due to improper disposal of food waste. If they can take care on the odor, this is nice place to spend some time especially if you have young kids as they can run around. will go back if I am in the area again just to see if there is any improvement and check out the tasty food.

So this Kamat restaurant here in solapur has been a childhood favourite. Everyone from owner to the waiters all are very soft spoken, courteous and well behaved. The service is extremely fast. Avoid weekend dinners (sometimes waiting). Their south indian breakfast is amazing.

A true blue Marathi traditional meal at Hotel Nisarg on Sholapur-Pune Road, Sholapur. Zunka-Shengdana Chutney-Jowari. With the number of people and huge waiting queues, the place looks to be a must stop for all vehicles on this highway. If I have to draw comparisons, it is like Sukhdev/Pehalwan in Murthal, Puran Singh in Ambala or Lucky in Jallandhar on the GT Road NH1.Now to the food. Zunka has a chickpea flour base and a tempering of fried onions, mustard seeds, ginger & garlic. Team it up with Shengdana Chutney (mildly spicy chutney side dish made of roasted, crushed peanuts) and Jowar chapatis. The moment you eat the first bite, all that you can do is just admire the down to earth ingredients that are cooked into something so tasty. And enjoy the meal silently. Light on the stomach and perfect meal on a hot summer afternoon and of course, dahi to cool it all off.
