We visted Ashoka for the second time today. We were greeted by a nice gentleman and served by a young man with a wonderful smile. He was very polite and helpful when asked questions about food on the menu. He ensured we received mildly spiced dishes which we prefer. We ordered 3 dishes - chicken korma, chicken saag and spinach and paneer naan. All three were out of this world good but I admit to being very keen on the chicken saag which is made with dark meat chicken (my favorite) and a spinach sauce to die for. The spinach and paneer naan was very much like an "Indian pizza" I thought but even better than most pizzas I have had.We look forward to many more visits to this clean, well designed, spacious restaurant. Compliments to the chef!

I have recently moved to Penticton. Never had such authentic Indian food anywhere before. I absolutely loved the Chicken Korma. Couldn't believe there is so much variety from Appetizers to Vegetarian curries to Non veg curries along with salads, desserts and not to forget Indian Chai Tea. Loved this place, and courteous service. Will definitely come here again.

My wife and I ate dinner here on a quiet Monday evening. We ordered the Vegetable Samosa, Shrimp Pakora, Veg Korma and the Coconut Curry with Chicken. All the dishes were exceptional and I really enjoyed the Veg Korma, even though I don't normally enjoy vegetarian Indian dishes. We asked for very mild spice and got it - which is very unusual. Usually the spices are way overdone for those of us that can't take the heat!!The only comments we have are that although it's clearly new and renovated inside, it is really lacking for warmth and style inside. You wouldn't look inside and think you are going to feel comfortable and cozy in there. It would go a long way for them to have more plants, pictures - - maybe of Nepal and some mountains and scenery? Some blankets or Nepalese ornaments would add a lot of interest and style to the place. In any case, the food is well worth the visit and we highly recommend it.
