Visited Tulsi after reading excellent reviews on the internet. This was the last place we went to on our trip to Amsterdam before catching our flight the next morning. Must admit were not disappointed with either the service or the food. Even my 9yo whoâs very picky, enjoyed his food. As with most things in Amsterdam, pricey but one comes out of the restaurant feeling satisfied. If youâre craving for a proper Indian during your visit to Amsterdam then I would recommend this place. A tell tale sign of authenticity is when you find a large number of Indians visiting an Indian restaurant, there were aplenty when we visited! Top notch restaurant.

Sherpa Restaurant, founded in 1989 in Amsterdam, is the first Nepalese and Tibetan restaurant in the Netherlands. We also serve several signature Indian cuisines. The traditional cooking in Nepal, Tibet and India is an art and requires years of experience
We ordered a Dal Pakoda dish with rice, vegetable pakora, vegetarian samosas and Jumbo Prawn (Pakora?), Garlic Naan and Sherpa Tea. We were greeted with the friendliest smiles and great services - our waitress gave us good recommendations when ordering our meal. Food was AMAZING!!! If you love Indian food, this is a must to eat place. When we ordered the Sherpa tea, we didnât expect milk in it (we donât take milk in our teas), but it didnât deter us from drinking it. We were too full to order dessert, but I am sure it would be just as delicious. This is a 5 star in every department.

We are traditional North-Indian restaurant specialist in Tandoori oven, Curry, Vegatarian, Birriani's and traditional North-Indian breads. We also have special desserts and drinks.
We found Taj when looking for Indian cuisine with vegetarian options. Indian food varies greatly depending upon the part of India the owners are from. The food was very tasty, mildly spiced and nicely served, our waiter was attentive. The onion bhajae was novel to us and delicious. For desert we had the Patiala Ice - the tastiest desert ever with bitesized squares of rose ice cream in wonderfully flavored kheer pudding. Good restaurant for open minded adventurous eaters.

We travelled about 30 minutes by car from outside of the city to try out this restaurant after reading the reviews (and craving Indian food!). We weren't disappointed. The ambience was just right, quiet music was playing in the background and there was a warm comfortable feel to the establishment. The staff were really friendly and very helpful, offering advice to us on both portion sizes (no attempt to up-sell) and also advising fully on the flavours and ingredients in the dishes to ensure we new what we were ordering and that dishes would compliment each other. The food arrived in a timely manner and the portion sizes were more than adequate. Everything was flavoured well, the spices were delicately balanced and all tasted amazing. We were keen to try the home made dessert (Kulfi and Gulab Jaman) but decided to take away the latter as we were already overdone! This was very good too.The pricing is considerably higher than we are used to at home but totally in line/cheaper than other restaurants in Amsterdam. The waiter was casually switching between several languages depending on where the clients were from as well as speaking to his staff in their native language, very impressive and a professional touch. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit and I am sure that there is something for everyone on the extensive menu, don't be afraid to ask the staff for great advice.

This used to be a place called Twist which was more of a fusion style Indian restaurant where this is now proper Indian. I loved the Thaali because then you can sample various dishes and if you take 2 different ones it's great to share. Portion are on the smaller side for those big eaters. if so, do order some appetizers before. Flavors are really good from mild to spicy and in particular the Naan breads are delicious. The staff speaks poorly to no Dutch but you can always try English. We were here on a Sunday night and a couple of tables were occupied. Not sure about the remainder of the week. The Thaali dishes are between 19 and 25EUR so decent priced.
