Start downtown at the architecturally stunning National Gallery of Canada, and don't miss the Canadian Museum of Nature and the Canada Aviation and Space Museum. Iâve lived and traveled throughout India and love the varieties of food that are found in the local towns and villages. Kochin Kitchen is a pleasant low key restaurant that my wife and I very much enjoyed. We stuck with the buffet which offers many choices to dinners including salads, curries, chutneys, rice, raita, and desserts. All were tasty or at least good enough. The real draw is that the buffet allows you to pick and choose what youâd like for yourself and decide for yourself the size of your portions. We each put together meals that we enjoyed and that satisfied our cravings for Indian food. The spicing was not overly hot but very flavorful. The service was attentive and friendly. We had a great meal here at a reasonable price. Weâll be back.

First time visiting this busy Indian restaurant for lunch buffet. Service was very efficient and pleasant. Food was plentiful and tasty. Naan bread and mango dessert were especially good. However, if you don't like moderately spicy food then you might be somewhat limited in your choices. Decor was modern, clean but basic. Definitely would return.

Roast 'n' Curries is different (fusion of Indian and Canadian style ) fast service, delicious items made from fresh produce and friendly customer service.
Our last meal while visiting Ottawa on vacation. We picked this restaurant based on reviews and proximity to our hotel. I ordered takeout on a Wednesday night around 7pm. I ordered tandoori chicken pieces with bone. Received 2 legs and 1 thigh piece with some roasted vegetables of red/green pepper, mushrooms and onion. Squeezed on some fresh lemon. Taste of cilantro. It was an appetizer for $14.99. It was the best tandoori I've had. I used the butter naan from my combo meal to soak up the juices. We also ordered the a curry beef and a curry chicken combo. They each cane with your choice of samosas. We chose chicken and beef. Each combo was served with a side salad. Only complaint I would have is having the side salad in the same container as the curry chicken/beef hot container. I did notice that when eating in restaurant they serve salad on same plate. Not a big deal. The long grain rice was perfect. We chose the butter naan over the garlic naan. This was one of the best naan I've had. So good. Buttery and still chewy and crisp.Everything was piping hot and delicious. It was easily the best meal we've had in 5 days while vacationing in Ottawa. When I picked up my takeout order it wasn't quite ready but the chef was so nice and offered me a glass of water while I waited. I declined. He even offered to go hold the door open for me on the way out. You can tell this guy takes pride in his business. The food was amazing. If I'm ever back in Ottawa, this will definitely be my first meal. Excellent quality food. Decent portions. Prices may be a tad high but worth every penny. Great job!
