Three of us came here on Sunday en route from Manchester to London. Delicious food, friendly prompt efficient customer service, clean neat cosy restaurant, and you're invited to bring your own drinks, all for a very reasonable price; in our case, 9 poppadoms, 3 curries with rice and a drink all for £45. Chicken Pasanda isn't on the menu but when I asked the waiter if it's available (as other pasanda dishes were on the menu), he said yes they can cook it, and it was delicious

I have reviewed many places on trip advisor and so far I have chosen to review those places I have found enjoyable. Unfortunately I feel so strongly that I am about to post a 'not so favourable' review. My husband and I decided to pick up a take away from the Bilash Restaurant on our way home. After waiting for some time our order was taken. There were no niceties or welcome smiles but we continued to order food. The food itself was dry & tasteless and the garlic naan was a standard naan with raw garlic sprinkled on the top & then grilled. To say we were disappointed would be an under statement.

We discovered this fab restaurant on trip advisor and was not disappointed. We were a family of four (two adults and two children) and the menu suited us all. Very happy to see a children's menu. Our two loved their chicken tikka masala and rice which was a great portion size and excellent value at £5.95 each.My chicken dish was georgous as was the Lamb my hubby had.I can not wait to return to stoke on trent to go back as i think delivery would be to much back to Cambridgeshire!! :)

Been open about 6 mths,Doing very well.
Visited one evening in December. Food was nice, not many diners, intrusive ambient background music that was way too loud. Only one member of staff serving & he was sullen, didnât make an effort, smelt of stale cigarettes & was conspicuous by his absence when we needed service. We took friends out for dinner here & we had told them it was a lovely restaurant (we have been a couple of times before), but this visit embarrassed us. Not saying we wonât return but it might be a few months before we do, perhaps we caught them on an âoff nightâ.? Such a shame as we live in the village & it would be nice to have a decent Indian restaurant.

Visited twice in the space of a week, first as part of a group of 30. Wasnât sure of what to have, so the manager recommended a dish based on my tastes. The food was excellent, despite the large numbers. Returned with family and we all had a wonderful experience. Will definitely return.

I'm amazed by all the good reviews this place gets and can only put it down to it being somewhat unique.Never have i known such ridiculously small portion sizes. The concept is simple you order several starters and mains to get a wider range of foods and tastes as you would normally get. However, nothing quite works... the waiter does even inform you of which dish is which.Left still feeling hungary which ultimately made it feel like an expensive mealDear thepoortable, Thank you for taking your time to write this review, I am sorry You feel that we did not meet your expectations on this occasion. As you mentioned in your review, the Thalii is a tapas style platter which is made up of smaller portion sizes of starters and mains allowing for our diners to try out a larger variety of dishes. We recommend that the small and medium options are both individual Thaliiâs and a large could be shared by 2 people. Additions can be made to your platter at anytime if more dishes are required. We hope that you will give us another chance now that the concept is abit more clear, please call us and ask for a member of management, we would be more than happy to see you again. Many ThanksThe Thalii Team

First time trying here for my Son's 14th Birthday with my Partner. We went on recommendation that it is the Top Trip Advisor restaurant in Stoke. Absolutely correct From our arrival with the Staff opening the door to our departure with the same, we can not commend their attentive service enough. Lovely staff. The food is excellent. So many starters, main courses and selection of puddings. Free soft drinks in pint glasses. Take your own alcoholic drinks. Food very tasty from starters to mains to puddings. This is our second visit to Basmati, for a meeting between old work colleagues, travelling from all over Staffordshire and as far as mid Wales so good food, and ease of parking is key.We tend to have the buffet at £14.95, as you get poppadoms, a starter, a main, of which there is a wide selection, a side of either naan or rice. The food is of great quality, and comes piping hot. The staff are very easy going and don't rush you between courses.Absolutely no complaints, great service, great food and good to meet old friends.Highly recommended.
