Well I had tasted several Japanese curries before and they all seemed to be made out of the same stuff, reminiscent of the Golden Curry packet curry mix.Not so with Mamezo. I had the mushroom curry and it consisted of thin strips of mushrooms in a delicious deep brown richly flavoured curry sauce with its own character unlike anything I had tasted before. The others in the party had differing curries with beef and vegetables and all were reportedly of the same quality. There was nice jazz playing, and the restaurant had a homely feel with lots of little memorabilia items around. It was a small dinky little restaurant in the Nakamachi area of Kichijoji, heading away from the station, just past that landmark neglected property with the vacant front yard and the tree growing through the roof! Then turn right two alleys past it then go 20 meters or so.I can still taste that curry now!! Do yourself a f(l)avour! Sorry about that!

... This is how i'm welcomed when i enter this nice place, regardless how long time ago i was there. Fresh and tasty Nepali/Indian food. Owner are very friendly and polite. I come very often for Diner after work.

I had lunch today at this simple Indian restaurant with great food. It's sort of hidden away on the third floor of a nondescript building in the middle of Kichijoji but it's worth seeking out. We had two lunch sets. One was the daily curry which was seafood and vegetables. Excellent though a little sweet. It also came with a delicious soup. The other lunch was a set with a chicken curry and a daal. Very good and a generous portion of buttery naan. We chose medium hot which was perfect for my Japanese friend but a little too mild for me. I would have preferred a little spicier so I will order hot next time I go for sure. Another table had a tandoori hot plate that smelled and looked wonderful. The restaurant is family friendly and I noticed there was a children's lunch on the menu for 490 yen.
