Reviews on Indian food in Montgomery, Ohio, United States. Montgomery is a city in Hamilton County, Ohio, United States, settled in 1796. The town was a coach stop on the Cincinnati-Zanesville Road, later known as the Montgomery Pike, with an inn, two taverns, a grist mill and a carding mill to process its agricultural products. It would remain a rather sleepy hamlet until the 1960s when it became an affluent bedroom community for people working in Cincinnati. It retains its historic downtown with many other 19th-century houses scattered throughout the community. It is currently accessed from exit 15 off Interstate 71 and exit 50 off Interstate 275, and it is the eastern terminus of the Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway about five miles northeast of the Cincinnati city line. The population was 10,251 at the 2010 census.

I tried this restaurant at Montgomery before it moved to Fields Ertel Rd location. I cannot understand why or how reviews are good, as this place serves food being passed as Indian. Ambience is so-so but service initially was good. The first time I visited I ordered lamb chops and they were good but slightly sweet. Maybe the chef was trying to make it taste BBQish. My vegetarian wife ordered a vegetable dish that she could not eat. On the second visit at the new location, we ordered Gin & Tonic (too sour), papri chaat (appetizer), half tandoori chicken and chef's special with rotis and butter naans. Rotis were sweet by themselves and papri chaat was bland. Half tandoori chicken was dunked in some strange dilute sauce with onions, bell peppers to look good on presentation, but the breast was still dry and no flavor. My wife felt that the Chef's special with veggies was too sweet though it was spiced up on request. Ordered rotis to be dry with no ghee/oil on them. The server brings the rotis on top of butter naans and the butter had already rubbed on them. The server took the rotis with the basket back plopping the naans over the entree. We attributed to poor training. Though we told the servers who inquired about our food, they did not do anything about it. The chef was too busy taking care of and chatting with one table that he probably did not know what was being doled out from his kitchen. Our money could have been better spent. Awful service and terrible food masquerading as Indian food. Thanks for writing elaborate baseless and false review . But hats off to your energy to defame the restaurant. Looks like no one can please you. Roti on top of naan and butter touched it wow i never knew our butter was so contageous. Papadi chaat bland.. please spare us.. 20 years In business i have seen all kinds of people who have a sole intention to write negative things and i hope you are not one of them!!!

Step into Kanak India Restaurant for an authentic Indian cuisine. Your senses will fill with aromatic herbs and spices perfectly blended with vegetables and/or meat to give you a true taste of India right in your neighborhood.
I saw some decent reviews for the place and thought I'd give them a try; I wish I hadn't. The food was merely ok. The serving size was very small, about half what I'd get at my normal Indian place but more expensive. It definitely wasn't worth the money, and I wouldn't return even if I had a coupon. The service was very subpar. I'll stick to my regular Indian restaurant!

We've been relying on Tandoor for dinner for decades. It's always delicious and reliable. We mostly do carry out from Tandoor. The Murgh Tiki Masala (tender chicken pieces in a yogurt and tomato sauce) and the Saag Gosht (Lamb in spinach) with their excellent rice is delicious. They craft delicious, fresh Naan in their kitchen. We also enjoy their vegetable Samosas with their great mint sauce. We highly recommend Tandoor. Get their before your food is ready and enjoy an authentic Beer from India.
