Placed a takeaway order and asked them to make the curries authentic indian spicy (not sweet) ( the malady that the other indian restaurants in Launceston suffer from) to which the restaurant staff agreed and delivered on. Out of the chicken tikka masala and dal makhni we ordered. The chicken tikka masala wasn't up to the mark, barely edible. On the other hand the dal makhni was alright. So I guess they delivered on one half of the order. Not sure I'll order from here next time around.

We really enjoyed our wine, starters and main courses. I am a vegetarian and thereâs lots to choose from. We found the price very reasonable and would definitely recommend. The only things we would have liked are real cloth napkins, a cooler for the wine bottle and for the waitress to pour the wine rather than just give us the bottle. We will definitely be back next time weâre in Tas.

Great place for work lunch when famished but short on time. Beef, chicken, lamb and vegetable options - served with rice for $7.00. Naan and samosas too. Seating for 10-15 people but I generally take it back to the office. Clean business, friendly service. Opposite Target in Charles Street. Note - cash only (no cards).

On the water so views are good. Menu is quiet limited.Without a doubt the dahl here was the best we have had for several years. But the rest of the menu was difficult to find too much that grab attention. We asked to have the spice level as extra hot; the dahl was spicy, the fish dish was very plain and the sauce was somewhat sweet.Good service.

"With abundance of pride we present to you a kitchen from the history book that has walked its journey from up above to the down under" As the team proudly describes PickledEvenings being modern Indian Punjabi cuisine, totally different then other Indian
As a family of four it was nice to revisit Pickled Evenings. This time we were seated down stairs which is preferable to just upstairs that have more echoing sounds. The food is great and the service timely and courteous. What letâs this place down really is the attention to detail. The decor needs a refresh with chipped paint and some control over bar and kitchen noises in the background. Our table was not level but the restaurant was nice and clean except for fingerprints left on the menu that I personally find off putting as I wander about general hygiene, but all was good this night. Look, Iâd like to say this is not a bad place and I would still recommend it for good Indian food at a very reasonable cost and they do take always as well. I would recommend the Rogan Josh I could eat it all day.

Happy staff welcoming and informative, food delicious and delivered quickly , table checked 3 times during meal , hot plates attentive clearing. The food Lamb Rogan Josh, deep flavour and authentic. Chicken Biriyani good perhaps a little stodgy, Pakora crunchy and spicy , light Naan and sweet bargee, a very good suburban restaurant that deserves its recommendations
