Rajdhani Delight is a South Indian restaurant, serving mostly vegetarian dishes. The food is served in a steel thali having small steel bowls, and different types of vegetable curries are served. Condiments like yogurt, achar, etc are also served. For starters some achar, chutney, and papars are best. Alongwith the vegetarian some non-veg like chicken masala is also served. For dessert items like Loki ka halwa, daal ka halwa are good. And dont forget to have saltish lassi as a drink. Overall prices are reasonable abd service is good.
We went for the ambiance of the restaurant. They serve Pakistani food. We went for lunch and shown to a comfortable table. We ordered a prawn curry which was great. The other dish was Kashmiri Lamb curry which was not what we expected. It tasted more like Nihari. The nans served hot from tandoor were awesome. We did not try any dessert.Would go there again.
Food from Pakistan's neighbors Iran and India. This was brought over by migrating Parsis, traveling to Bombay from Iran with some of them settling in Karachi. The food of that time is no longer seen on the modern menu card and even less understood by the
The restaurant's innovative title is an Urdu phrase meaning a "dark horse" or "hidden talent" which becomes evident once you pass through the nondescript entrance and are transported to a typical eatery of 1960's Karachi replete with white marble table tops, old-style wooden chairs, dated framed photos and archaic open electrical wiring with the iconic round, black "click-on" switches. The elaborate menu offers a mouth-watering variety of desi soups, starters and entrees. On the recommendation of our server, we ordered the crispy hot prawns which featured crunchy fried prawns (minus the "oiliness") on a bed of flaky red chilly shells - very, very yummy! We followed this up with the Mutton Khara Masala which too was superb - the mutton in the form of juicy, tender chops were inimitable! All the while, we were plied with perfect, piping hot naans! Unfortunately, all that good food, didn't leave any space for the shahi tukra / gajjar ka halwa desserts ... which we preferred to leave hidden, to be uncovered another day! Service was fast and courteous - not a false note anywhere (a bit pricey though)."Chupa Rustom" is truly a hidden treasure which, I am confident, will very soon be discovered by local gastronomes as positive word of mouth spreads throughout the city. Dear Veer, Thank you for your valuable feedback! We hope to please you time and again!!
