Find out what Indian restaurants to try in Chesterfield. Chesterfield is a market town and borough in Derbyshire, England. It lies 24 miles (39 km) north of Derby and 11 miles (18 km) south of Sheffield at the confluence of the rivers Rother and Hipper. Including Whittington, Brimington and Staveley it had a population of about 103,800 in 2011, making it the second largest town in the ceremonial county after Derby. Archaeologists trace it back to a Roman fort built in the 1st century AD, but soon abandoned. Later an Anglo-Saxon village developed. The name derives from the Old English ceaster (a Roman fort) and feld (grazing land). It has a street market of some 250 stalls three days a week. The town sits on a coalfield, which was economically important until the 1980s. Little visual evidence of mining remains. The best-known landmark is the Church of St Mary and All Saints with its crooked spire, originally built in the 14th century.

My husband and I had dinner here with friends. We ordered the chicken korma. I can honestly say I have never seen a korma this colour in my life.... the colour was bright yellow(canary colour) , no flavour not nutty nor coconut. I have absolutely no idea what I was eating, couldnât finish and only had around 2-3 mouthfuls. 1 Star was for the pint of beer my husband had as he enjoyed it and as you canât rate less than one.

Gulab is one of the best Indian restaurants I have ever visited. The staff are very welcoming and cannot do enough for you. The service is second to none and we could not have asked for more. The food was fresh, hot on arrival and fantastic! The overall atmosphere and vibe is so friendly and locally run. Would definitely recommend Gulab for observant, effeicnt staff that go the extra mile to make their customers have a great experience.

Not been here for a while and I remember it being better. The staff are very friendly but unfortunately the food and elements of the service are not as good. Ordered a bottle of white wine which was served at room temperature. Not much point then bringing a cooler if the wine isn't chilled to begin with. The poppadoms and starters were nice but the main meals were disappointing. I will say that I probably just chose wrong but my chicken Ceylon tasted like tomato soup and had very little heat (despite what the menu said) I'm used to Ceylon having a more spicy, coconut flavour.I'm sure if i chose something else, it would be better though. Will try again sometime.

Our sons treated my wife and I and our daughter in law to this lovely establishment to celebrate my wife's birthday.Nice and relaxed atmosphere. As it was on a Monday night it was quiet but not a problem. The waiter was extremely friendly and helpful with our ordering of the food.We all had starters plus poppadoms and pickles. We each ordered 5 separate mains plus side dishes and a bottle of shiraz wine.Thoroughly enjoyed it and we will definitely return in the near future.Keep up the good work and thank you Rubel.

I have visited Delhi 41 on several occasions since moving to Chesterfield and I have been impressed on each occasion by the quality of the Food. A very varied Menu with each dish being skilfully made and presented. Service is generally of a high standard although on a recent visit , with a group of five people , two of the dishes were not what was ordered ! The Food was still however very good. Waiter should check carefully before referring the Order to the Chef ! I can forgive the slight shortfall , as I have no complaints abut the Food quality based on a number of visits. Spicy dishes are spicy and not for the faint-hearted. Portions are good and well-presented and the prices are reasonable. I look forward to future visits.

Donât let the fact that this is a very busy takeaway and home delivery restaurant put you off. The restaurant is smart and clean, the welcome is warm, and the service pleasant and efficient. The staff are very helpful making suggestions and recommendations, and the dishes can be cooked according to taste. Food is good, and reasonably priced.

This is a Nepalese Restaurant which offers traditional Nepalese food with some more traditional Indian style dishes with a contemporary twist. The onion bhajis are as far removed from those normally served in an Indian restaurant as a burger is to a steak. The Pakoras are a delight and the nan breads are so light you have to nail them down. The main course dishes are so beautifully flavoured and seasoned they make your tastebuds dance!! Service is discreet and prices are very fair for the quality on offer. Have to go back to decide if Ripley branch is better!!!
