When is an 11 year old not a child??? When they eat at the Ella Mount heaven hotel. A hotel that is perched on a mountainside with beautiful views. But that is really where the delights end. A buffet lunch that is overseen by a number of visible managers who prowl around the room like nightclub bouncers and quote hotel policy when questioned about the bill. A hotel that is well past its best before date and a blip on our otherwise great culinary experience of Sri Lankan.
Its an amazing experience at there. We have visited couple of times. Delicious foods. Specially rice and curries. And also they are very friendly & have excellent Customer care service. Willing to go next time also.
It is off from the noise from busy city but 2 united walking from the centre. Also with most attractive views like little aderms, Ella Rock.
During our stay in Ella, we attended an evening cooking class at The Apple Inn run by professional chef Sanath. It was such a great evening learning about local spices, how and why theyâre used in certain combinations and all with a beautiful backdrop of Ella Rock and the valley. All finished off with a feast from the prepared foods! Would highly recommend attending this class!
The restaurant is conveniently located just 500 meters away from Ella city center on Passara Road. The restaurant meets on the way to Little Adam's Peak.
cannot judge how the rooms/hotel is but certainly would like to share my lunch experience:it was just 1 table occupied, around 1.30 PM. Food took around 25 minutes to come. We ordered simply the standard curry options (dahl, sambol, fish, etc) and it took a while. Furthermore, all the curry food had been microwaved.Asked for mango juice but they had ran out of mango that day, despite being in Ella, where mango grows basically anywhere and everywhere:)finally, again, being the only table busy in the restaurant, they gave me the wrong bill.poor place for lunch.

We stayed here can recommend it we also eat here, why go else where when perfect curries are on the door step. The food is freshly cooked, good quality and as you ask for, want a hot spicy curry they will make it just perfect. You can eat European it's good but give me their curries any day so Sri Lankan. Take a cookery class and cook your own lunch. Have stayed here 3 times and always eat here everything is so fresh.
The nature cafe and restaurant offer mix of food (sri lankan indian italian british american)
This place was recommended to us by our hostel which was within walking distance, the food was great our party of 3 each had a different plate and we were all satisfied ! If you are staying in this area well worth a visit, or after the hike to ella's peak it is only a short tuc tuc ride from Kitahella station. Thank you for your lovely feedback Thank you

An authentic Sri Lankan dining experience. Join us for a cookery class where you will learn to prepare several traditional dishes, all using locally sourced ingredients. Alternatively, you can just join us later for dinner. Booking is required. We hope to
One of the best vegetarian meals we had in Sri Lanka! The super friendly owners greeted us on a slow evening, and apart from telling them we were vegetarian we left the dinner choice in their hands. They gave us some new year treats and tea while we waited, and when dinner came we were not disappointed. A mountain of white and red rice, dhal, and vegetable dishes like stewed pumpkin, sautéed eggplant, curried beans, potatoes, salad and others arrived for the two of us, though it could have fed four! Afterwards we were given some sweet pineapple to finish on. And all this for 1100Rs! We couldnât believe it. Some friendly chat with the locals too was very enjoyable. If you are after some authentic, home-cooked style Sri Lankan food for cheap, then definitely try Siyapthaya Hut!
Rain interupted our Motorbiketour at the right moment beside Dude's Hut. We decided to step in an they warm welcomed us. After the delicious Curry and nice conversation with the owner we fell I love with this place. Everyone who gets tired of the Western-Style Srilankan food at the Tourist Restaurants in Ella should go there.
