Zgorzelec [zɡɔˈʐɛlɛt͡s] ( listen) (German: Görlitz, Upper Sorbian: Zhorjelc, Czech: Zhořelec) is a town in south-western Poland with 32,322 inhabitants (2012). It lies in Lower Silesian Voivodeship (from 1975–1998 it was in the former Jelenia Góra Voivodeship). It is the seat of Zgorzelec County, and also of the smaller district of Gmina Zgorzelec (although it is not part of the territory of the latter, as the town is an urban gmina in its own right). Zgorzelec is located on the Lusatian Neisse river, on the post-1945 Polish-German Neisse border adjoining the German town of Görlitz, of which it constituted the eastern part up to 1945.

What a great find. Lovely setting, nice staff, good service. Fabulous range of food and really, really tasty. Do a great breakfast menu, lovely lunch dishes, great cakes and ice cream. It's all vegetarian and mostly vegan. Check the opening hours as they're not open especially early in the week.

Es wird ein günstiger Mittagstisch angeboten und ich muss jetzt überlegen, ob es auch Fleischgerichte gibt, denn ich kann mich nur an vegetarische Gerichte erinnern: Nudeln mit Gemüse, Pasta mit Pilzen, Suppen und Graupengerichte. Ja richtig, es gibt Graupengerichte, freilich bezeichnet die Küche diese als Gerstenspeisen. Nein, es sind Graupen.Wer es scharf mag, sollte bei der Bestellung auf eine Extraportion Pfeffer oder Chili hinweisen.Sehr freundlicher Service, der, man staune, Englisch, Polnisch und Deutsch, beherrscht.

Das Kochwerk hat mich begeistert! Für einen sehr fairen Preis gibt es leckere Tagesgerichte, alles handgemacht, regional, saisonal und in bio-Qualität. Sehr coole Leute da drin! Am besten ihr nehmt euch die Zeit und esst im Kochwerk, aber das Essen gibt's auch zum mitnehmen.

We heard amazing reviews about the Gut Krauscha chicken broths and stocks and were so happy this little hidden gem in the train station had them.They also have a hot deli for lunch with a variety of dishes to eat there or take out.
