My wife and I aren't breakfast people. But while vacationing in Sarasota, Florida, we have discovered that many locals and tourists love their eggs and bacon and coffee in the morning. So we aren't surprised to see so many outstanding breakfast-oriented restaurants in town, even with several locations. The most active is First Watch, with seven locations in the Sarasota area. It advertises itself as a cafe chain for health-minded people with breakfast, brunch and lunch options, such as omelets, salads and soups. We favor the First Watch location at 8383 South Tamiami Trail. Our usual order is orange juice, black coffee, steel cut oatmeal with house-marinated berries, fresh slice banana, pecans, low-fat milk and fresh backed muffin, Belgian waffle with a side of berry compote, syrup, powdered cinnamon sugar and pork sausage links and The Traditional, two scrambled eggs, pork sausage links, whole grain artisan toast and strawberry jam and seasoned potatoes. It's a great way to start any day of the week.

I found this in Orlando, and loved it there as I loved this location. I go with the traditional breakfast, which they DO have on the menu (someone complained they just wanted bacon and eggs, well, they do serve that). But also they have things like chia pudding and specialty bacon, waffles, and more. We find the ingredients to be fresh and the bacon to be DELICIOUS! If you order a coffee, they leave you an insulated pot on the table so that you can order more.Strange to put into a review of the restaurant, but I noticed at BOTH locations that they have SUCH SOFT TOILET PAPER. LOL. But that's important. Sometimes it's the little touches when they give you a normal roll, not something remniscant of sandpaper. Pay at the cashier as you leave. Open for breakfast and lunches only. Closes at 2:30 pm.

For generations, my familia lived in New York and experienced firsthand the journey of the Italian clam bars. I have great memories of getting spiffy and visiting our local clam bar. I always thought it would've been the cat's pajamas to walk thru the doo
My husband and I had a very nice meal at Speaks while visiting the area to celebrate his brithday. We enjoyed the Arancini Shrimp with medium marinara, dinners from the daily specials (lobster tails and sides, lobster and shrimp pasta), and chocolate hazelnut dessert. From the wine/cocktails to dessert, from the food to the service, everything was excellent. We look forward to a return trip to try additional items on the menu.

We have eaten at this all organic, vegan restaurant many times, and we are never disappointed. Each item on the menu is prepared with the well being of the customer in mind. There is nothing on the menu that isn't well-thought out and prepared for the highest nutritional value. Chef Rano is sincere and passionate about providing nutrition focused meals. We have tried most of the items on the menu, and all have been delicious. All items are freshly prepared by order. My favorite is the spring roll, while my husband's favorite is the kimchi sweet potato. Although there are some staples on the menu, there are some new additions weekly. Whether you are vegan or not, give this place a try!
